Well I'm over all this rain, I dumped another 30mm out here this morning, as we hit 257mm (just over 10") for this month and 487mm (just over 19") this year so far and this weather is set to continue here until the end of this month at least. :-O

Cheers.

Wiggo you live in a dry part of the world.

That's what they tell us, but when you've passed half a year's average rainfall in less than 3 months.....

..... does anyone have a Super Sopper or small hovercraft with a slasher handy as my grass needs cutting badly?

Cheers.

Barrow a few sheep, they will even haul the grass away Wiggo. LOL

They'll need blowup floaties and flippers here ATM Grant. :-(

Cheers.

Yesterday was one of those days you couldn't do much because when you started it would rain on you.

Today they say sunny but a bit cool and light breeze, I like those. :)

Message 1858192 - Posted: 29 Mar 2017, 5:10:03 UTC

A mostly overcast day here today and I did go out and do 2hrs of dust free mowing, that's how long a full fuel tank and my legs last for, and the ground is water logged so it was slow going and I didn't get to finish it all, but we did reach our expected max of 27C while I was out there (that's now back to 25C). :-)

The first band of showers being generated by T.C. Debbie are now only 150kms away from here (or about 4-5hrs at the rate of current progress) and up to an inch of rain by 9am tomorrow (then up to another 2" by the next morning). :-(

Then there's the question of where and when that system pops back out to sea, it could either get a lot wetter here or it'll be over quickly, but no one really knows.

Lucky I live on top of a good hill 974 metres above sea level and I'm now ready for it all. ;-)

Cheers.

Oh Man Wiggo, nothing like mowing wet grass topped with more water. Could get CW around the corner to do it for you. LOL
I'm so glad I don't have to do that anymore.
Cheers everybody

After a few nice bright, if cold, days here it is now very misty/foggy/pollution haze and a little warmer... Only another two days delivering this course in a very foreign land, then a "day sight seeing", or maybe fog spotting will be a better description? before I climb into the big silver bird and head home to "Sunny Blighty" as us ex-pats must call the UK.

Well that slow moving tropical system called "Debbie" (the same name as C.W. #2 and it seems the same by nature) has delivered 28.5mm (1.2") by 9am here this morning and we have already reached our expected max of 19C.

That now takes this month's tally here to 289.5mm (11.4") and this year's to 519.5mm (20.5"), but the experts have just increased our expected rainfall for today here up to 80mm (3.25") now. :-O

Cheers.

Winds knocked power out here 8 times, then I called SCE at 3:33pm PST, then at 5:33pm PST the power returned, now I wish the winds would just die,
31mph West, gusts 58mph, gusts earlier were as high as 63mph, Grace is/was not happy, lots of dust too, supposed to last until around 11pm,
hopefully power will stay up for the night, or it's gonna be COLD. Temp is 63F, feels like 63.3F, humidity is 13%, dew point 15F, predicted low 43F, local sunset 7:07pm.

I'm glad I'm off My smart phone, which is being charged now.

There was 40mm in the old gauge this morning taking the final tally for March here to 329.5mm (13"). :-O

Meanwhile this year's tally so far is now at 559.5mm (22"), but hopefully we'll get 4-5 days in before any more significant rain falls again.

We officially begin our dry season tomorrow and we should be expecting frosts anytime now

Currently it's 19C, but there's a good chill in that wind.

I hope not Grant as this is best month that we've had ever, before this one was it was 7.75" back in 2011.

Cheers.
