Well, what can I say? The elections did not quite live up to my expectations.
I am a Trump supporter, and things were not all bad from his point of view in general.
However, in my home state.....governor Walker was unseated.
This really bothers me, because our state is going great guns.
He did not deserve to be defeated.
But, the voters have spoken, so I will suck it up and quietly stand back and see what transpires.

Sorry to hear about Walker, he was the best thing to happen up there in years. But of course one must never oppose the unions.
As for here in Colo, a committed socialist (Polis) replaced a left Dem (Hickenlooper), so it only gets worse.
Gotta love how Bernie Sanders came here to campaign for Polis on all the university campuses here ...

Give it two years, and the Dems will be trotting the Looper out as the best thing since sliced bread for Prez.
Amazing how his practice of knowingly hiring illegals for his restaurants in Denver a decade ago just "went away".

Good news, I voted - Bad news, my neighbors did also:)
Such is life in the People's Republic.

Yeah, like said. I shall accept the results, even though distasteful to me.
Which is more than I can say for the left wing since Trump took office.

Yeah, by my count we're two years into a bloodless coup.
Will be interesting to see what the next two years bring..

OK..............
My RX7 needs a battery and four tyres,.
It is a classic and surely needs attention.
What I need from you is about 4 thousand for body restoration.
It was hit by a hail storm several years ago, and insurance did not fully cover that.
There, at last I knew, one other in the midwest still running.
I should get her back on the road this summer.+

OK..............the tyres will be OK. Just looked.
It does need the battery.
It is fuel injected, bet it will start on the first crank.

what year? the wankel engine?
fabulous cars...

Hi Kittyman, like Jimbocus I also voted in Colorado and my neighbors also voted(Perlmutter enclave). I agree 100% regarding Polis. We are in for a rough time here tax and regulation wise. Before his passing I had discussions with Major Kong regarding relocation to Texas.....that is now a firm possibility for me.

My primary reason for seeking out your thread Mr. Kittyman is I know from past exchanges you are appreciative of amazing female vocalists. My little sister brought one to my attention this evening I had to share with you. I think you'll agree her talent is phenomenal. Here's two covers she has done, one on the Xfactor International version, of Queen's "The Show must go On" and then Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah".

Love the car a lot. Did not get it on the road this year.......additional insurance premiums.
I was both busy with other things and cashed out.
It's a 1985 GSLSE model. The GSLSE tag got you the fuel injected 13b Wankel instead of the 12a carbed version. And 4 corner disc brakes. The engine still has less than about 10k on it. Drove it up from Alpharetta GA with a tired 12a in it that the guy just dropped in to get it running. Had Mazdatrix in California build me a new 13b engine with all new parts. I was making a lotta money at the time.
Next year, for sure, I am gonna drive it in the summer.

Solid voice, she has.
The Queen cover was very good.
The Cohen cover was solid, but not outstanding. And the mix of it was somewhat overbearing, not focusing on her voice.
Of course, I base that on Cohen's own rendition and more so a couple of versions done by KD Lang.
She covered the song very well, but really did not add much emotionally. Being a young singer, she will probably add more as she ages. And she has good stage presence. I will look up some other things she has done and let ya know if I find anything notable.
Thank you for sharing!

Meow,
Mark

This line made me smile. Eric and I are hoping to retire to Wisconsin someday and add our blue blue votes to that beautiful, most interesting and very divided of states. As you might imagine given Eric's background, we follow Wisconsin politics and we are happy to see Governor Walker find another line of work. We are greatly concerned about the growing wealth gap in this country. Unions, generally, help slow that growing gap. We are sorry to see them in such decline across our nation. I hope you find happiness in Texas. I have a couple of relatives there and I always enjoy visiting that state.

Yes Angela, it was the Workers Unions which increased workers wages and reduced the income gap.

Unfortunately, "was" is the operative word.

Well, if you ever retire to Wisconsin and I'm still above ground, I might enjoy having dinner with you some time.
Political differences aside.

I thought so too.
My little popup kitties still give me a smile.
And I am thankful that Scarecrow has hosted them on his server for all these years.

I have to admit................
Even with my new meds and new frame of mind.........
There are times when my manic depressive mind tries to take hold.
I try to step back and hold it all in.
And most times I can hold off the demons if I concentrate hard enough.
But once in a while I am unable to.
And then I turn to my old bastion of music.
The realm of others who are better able to voice things than I am.
And they save me.
Here is one song that keeps me afloat when things turn downward.
Bob Dylan

Good job, Clyde. Another kitty saved.

On my side of the coin...................
This is day 6 without a cigarette.
I am well on my way and intend to make it stick this time.

Cold turkey, sheer determination.
