Did anyone knows how to merge this 2 hosts who Boinc said are incompatible but actualy are the same?

My windows crashes and i was forced to reinstall. The Boinc said they are incompatible!
I want to continue to crunch with the second one host who has the #2 slot on all time total credit.
Yes i allready follow the instructions in the Boinc FAQ and stop Boinc edit the config file, etc and change the hostid number. Save and all seems good. But when i restart the Boinc the new number changes back to the first one.

Once 1 has no tasks try again, but while tasks are in progress on both you can't do it. ;-)

Could wowrk but will thake months to clear the tasks. I don´t want to wait that long without crunching

I know as I had to go through the long process about 9-10yrs ago and that was the answer I got back then too (and it worked), but that didn't stop me from crunching as it will all eventually wind up together.

OK Will try the long way but if anyone has any other way please share.

Restart the host and it´s back with the 7869145 Host ID number, exactly the one i don´t want to use.

Something interesting, i run E@H too, there Boinc creates a new hostid too, but merge works fine there. Not understand why.
