Is it a gopher Gordon?

Cheers.

Maybe? Somebody suggested a beaver, but I don't think so.

If that dark area behind it in the second photo is its tail, I would go with beaver. The other critter in the second photo is a squirrel.

The hide looks a little hard. So it has to be a armadillo.

Not even close, it's not that... Pictured one armadillo.

armadillo.

Surely you jest.

I think he missed the second creature and was going on about the lawn ornament.

True about the wooden rabbit. I now see the other live animal. Best guess without getting a good look at the tail. Is a muskrat or beaver. Both swim in the water. If the tail is like a "rat". Long and skinny then I say muskrat. If not and very flat and board like. Then beaver is a Likely suspect.

The tail looks deceptively like it could be a paddle in that second picture, but when I've seen him closer to the house it's a bushy tail. I'm beginning to think he's a groundhog. I'd ask him, but he's awfully shy.

Please excuse this picture. It is the best I could find at at the moment for a "police type" lineup.

Excellent lineup, Admiral. Based on that, I'm going with my suspect as a groundhog.

Lets not go hunting or you might be shooting something out of season like a brown goat. LOL

Don't worry, all I have is a camera for shooting.

I'd go with a woodchuck/groundhog... Do you live near Punxatawni, PA? ;-)

Here's another picture of the critter:

Size wise it looks like a Marmot.

I do have a positive identification on one of the critters in Gordon's second picture. A squirrel.
