Is the Seti Institute the same as SETI@home? Facebook will let me set up a fundraiser for the Seti Institute, but there's nothing there for SETI@home, and I don't see an option to add it.

Getting back to critters, here's another, sometimes kept as a pet (but this one is photo'd in the wild...)

Yes, that's in Bangkok's Lumphini Park, not that far from the site of the monitor lizard photo...

My most recent acquisition. It's a cookie jar. It matches the salt & pepper shaker I got earlier.

(Walmart is selling them.)

The species is also in Honolulu, HI, and Hong Kong, by my personal observations...

What is this varmint in my backyard? Sorry, I had to take the picture through my backdoor's glass, so as not to scare the creature away.

Maybe? Somebody suggested a beaver, but I don't think so.

If that dark area behind it in the second photo is its tail, I would go with beaver. The other critter in the second photo is a squirrel.
<ed> and you seem to be maybe 1/3 mile from a creek so it isn't impossible for the guy to be looking for some food. Might wander over and see if there is a structure on the creek.

The hide looks a little hard. So it has to be a armadillo.

Lol, I know what the little fellow is behind the mystery critter, but as far as the tail goes, I thought when I saw him the other day, it was a bushy tail; however, that second picture of mine makes it look like it might be a paddle, which would really be surprising to me because there's a small creek a couple blocks over, but it doesn't run all the time.

Groundhog?

It could be a Wood Chuck, which on reading the wiki is just another name for a groundhog, a type of rodent.
