Well I went and did it and bought a dog. I got a female Chihuahua.
Great temper and doesn't wine and bark, plus makes [me] get out and do things which I need to do.
2 years old and spayed.

She gets up in the morning and walks out to the scooter and sits on the seat, clue #1. (I wonder if a pee run is necessary?) LOL
3 runs a day seems to be the number right now.

It really gives me something to do.

Congratulations. Dogs are wonderful companions. Please post a photo.

I have not been stung by any Bee, but I did get chased by a Bumble Bee for a bit when I was 8yrs old and living on a hill in Mar Vista CA.

There once was a man from St. Bede's,
Who got stung on the arm by a wasp.
    When asked if it hurt,
    He replied, "No, it didn't,
But I am glad it wasn't a hornet!"

I'll bet this rhymes in some other language. (German?)

Ah yes, an ankle biter, at least everyone that I've ever talked to about Chihuahua's, says they are.

Dogs are nice, but I have no yard, and cause of a problem of walking and/or standing, a cat for the moment is less painful.

Soon as my phone charges back up I'll send a pic.

Now that would be fun to find! The three long lines all end in 'n' in Finnish, but I doubt if they actually rhyme. German was a good bet for a sort of rhyme (Biene, Wespe, Hornisse) but the natural word order is not our friend and St Bede doesn't change in most languages anyway.

My mother who is now 88 years old loved the Batman TV series from the 60's.
In the 90's it was a lot of reruns of the series and she loved every minute of them:)

I got to see Robin(Burt Ward) and the Batmobile live back in about 1967, with My dad, I'd won a contest, not bad for a 6 or 7yr old, Batman(Adam West) was a No show, turns out He was afraid of type casting, too late!!

The lame excuse then, was "Batman had a prior engagement and could not be there"(hogwash!), some 100 kids and 100 adults were there in the LA Memorial Coliseum @ the 50 yard line, the Batmobile was driven diagonally from the field entrance to the 50yd line with Burt Ward in Costume driving as Robin the Boy Wonder(the Boy Blunder according to the Joker), as Burt Ward had His Drivers License.

Well I can tell you that I put out a trap for Yellow Jackets a week ago and I need to clean it out it's so full.
I haven't seen so many as this years, sit outside with a beer or a Coke and you have instant company.
They had to be put out since I can't get stung or it's straight to the ER room.

My dad raised a lot of honey bee's and would get stung all the time and never bothered him.
but I would swell up like a balloon in minutes.. this was in upstate N.Y. during the WW II
I seen him take a swarm of bee's, he'd climb the tree with his hand reach in with his hand and take out the queen then carry them back to the house, set up a new hive. Put the queen inside with a newspaper one layer from the top so the bee's had to climb all the way up.he's put small holes and lay the swarm just outside the hive and they would go it. and by the time they eat threw the paper to the queen they called it home. LOL
During WW ll sugar was rationed so honey was all we could get that is all I remember.

My one sister was about the same way when she got worked over by Hornets.

I have been lucky it's been about 26 years since my last one.

So, given the fact that the yellow jackets are around and you have an allergy to them, do you keep an epipen handy?

Massive hive removed from Warren Avenue bridge

I wish they'd have just left it alone.

I hope the hive survives after the relocation. :-(

Did you read the whole article??

The location made further stingings likely and also threatened the lives of the bees once winter sets in.

"Without any shelter they'll all die," said Rick Zimburean, the city's Lebo project manager. "And honey bees are so scarce — we need to do everything we can to help them."

I did. I think bees know more about what they're doing than we do. I doubt they'd die. I think that was said just to keep people from complaining about disturbing the hive.

In any case we can now be sure/hope the bees will be all right.

I found this yesterday at Walmart with the Autumn decorating things. (Made in China, of course. :-( )
I wish they'd had another raccoon that was posed just a little differently. This has two little holes on top so it's a salt/pepper shaker. Would be nice to have a set, but I didn't want two that looked exactly alike.
