Are there any directions on setting up the boing CLI client for Mac OS? I've looked and found some stuff from 10+ years ago which i son longer accurate.

There's no README or config info in the archive of boinc_7.6.33_x86_64-apple-darwin

BOINC consist of two main parts, the client - which does all the communications, scheduling and storing of work - and the manager which is a graphical user interface making it easier to control the client. You can start the client separately from the manager, or not start the manager at all. Or start the client as a daemon, as shown in http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Tools_for_Mac_OS_X

that page does not detail how to install the CLI client and does not even mention darwin.

What I want to do is install the CLI client, NOT the GUI.

Mac OS X (64-bit Intel)
Version 10.6.0+
7.6.33	Recommended version (Unix command-line version)	Download (1.60 MB)	6 Jun 2016"

You cannot install only a CLI client. You have to get the whole package, both client and manager, but you aren't forced to use them both.
But the only version available is for Mac OS X. Earlier versions are no longer supported.
The earlier Seti Classic stand-alone client is also no longer supported.

Then the download page should not offer a command line version for OS X. there is no indication at all that the GUI client is required and both version cary the current version number.
