Message 1878632 - Posted: 17 Jul 2017, 0:28:47 UTC - in response to Message 1878628.

An Australian woman has been shot dead by a Minneapolis police officer after calling 911 over a disturbance in an alley way.

The attending officers' body cams were not turned on either.

No cheers.

Still no particulars, as of this post, from the Authorities. Why?

I have a sister-in-law who lives in Minneapolis. Huge case there.

Today i heard she made two 911 calls.

Minneapolis releases 911 transcripts of woman killed by police

Officer Mohamed Noor, could have shot his partner, but no, he shot Justine instead.

Officer won't talk, partner won't talk. (Duh!?) I just don't trust the police. :(

Considering the thousands per week responses, to life threatening emergencies and attempting to either stop or arrest psychotic murderers, evil rapists, armed robbers, etc.

The vast majority, who are risking their lives for your protection, are not as you accuse.

The few who either should have not been given authority, or have abused their authority. Yes a few, considering what is daily encountered by those willing to risk their lives for the protection people and their children.

Are under attack by a mass anti cop hysteria, in addition other political hysteria, by a very disturbed segment of our society.

I understanding there will probably be a response, or responses, that will confirm what I have said.

ok..a few good cops. Still, don't trust the police.

edit: I respect your views CLYDE.

Here's the best one...

"It only takes one"

Helps if the training isn't everyone is trying to kill you every second of the day. Always make sure your weapon is pointed at the nearest human. Fire you weapon at the first sound because you are dead if you don't. Better to have 100 dead innocent people than 1 injured cop.

I am starting to wonder if that Department is really a Professional Organization.
So not this then?

Incorrect interpretation. As always.

Or put it, as Sirius B usually does. 1 + 1 = 3

Back to the possible Criminal Homicide of an innocent person. If allowed by Sirius B.

The initial Law Enforcement and Political Authorities silence regarding Officer Mohamed Noor, may have had been socially and politically motivated.

"A lot of people are holding the Somali community accountable," said Abdirizak Bihi, director of the Somali Education and Social Advocacy Center in Minneapolis. "That's absolutely wrong."

So what happened to law & justice? Doesn't the victim deserve that?

Or is that the state of American police forces today, employing those with a nervous dispositition?
Or is it social & political expediences that force those police forces into employing sub standard personnel?

Hmmmmmm....
Minneapolis police chief resigns following fatal shooting of Australian woman.
Apparently does not wish to deal with the fallout.
I am sure she will be called into court regardless as the legal battles in this case go forward.

From what I have read, Officer Noor got startled by a loud noise and panicked. Whether his lack of composure under duress was already known, or should have been known, is the big question for Chief Harteau.

Is a question mark until...

But if you read all the reports he already had 2 question marks against his name. A domestic, which has been dismissed, and a case of unnecessary force in apprehending a suspect.

Since we must hold the officer's to a high level of responsibility.

How do be balance the above?

By employing those who are not afraid of their own shadow.

"Ike McKinnon, a former police chief and deputy mayor, was one of the few African-American police officers on duty as the unrest roiled Detroit.
He was driving home after a long shift when he was pulled over by two white officers, he recalled in the Detroit 67 project.
Still dressed in uniform, Mr McKinnon was ordered to get out of his car, where one of the officers pointed a gun in his face and said: "Tonight you're going to die, ******."

Mr McKinnon said he saw the officer begin to pull the trigger, then he dove back into his car and took off as they open fired.
"So that was a sad reality to me that here we had these two police officers who shot at me, and it hit me in terms of, if they shot at me, a fellow police officer, what are they going to do to other people in the street, the city?" he said."

Not much changed in 50 years then

Not your normal type of case.
‘We’ll never be the same’: How a hydroponic tomato garden inspired cops to raid a family’s home
The "suspects" were both ex-CIA, and the waste plant material found in their bin was used loose tea leaves.

“The defendants in this case caused an unjustified governmental intrusion into the Hartes’ home based on nothing more than junk science, an incompetent investigation, and a publicity stunt,” Lucero wrote in his opinion. “The Fourth Amendment does not condone this conduct, and neither can I.”

The judge went on to question the department’s claim of probable cause for the raid — particularly on the issue of the supposedly “positive” field-tested tea leaves. “There was no probable cause at any step of the investigation,” the judge wrote. “Not at the garden shop, not at the gathering of the tea leaves, and certainly not at the analytical stage when the officers willfully ignored directions to submit any presumed results to a laboratory for analysis.”

Not the President of the United States.
Of course he can and even issue that order to all the police forces under his command, SS, FBI, CPB, ICE, ATF, US Marshals, ... . Just because he is prez, he didn't forfeit his first amendment rights.

Now the House and Senate may decide that isn't proper and show him the door, and they should for what he said.
