I'm sure many (myself included) would want to deal with both effectively. Kim however has us in a situation where doing anything about him militarily could lead to a bloodbath in South Korea and Japan, or even World War III. So two other options remain: sanctions and doing nothing unless he strikes first, as so far he's done nothing but sabre-rattle and waste missiles in the ocean.

Personally I think it is highly unlikely Kim will actually do anything. He knows that he and his country would get crushed eventually and inevitably in a conventional war, and almost immediately in a nuclear one, so he is just trolling in epic proportion.

Your $0.02 worth is well reasoned and logical. It would seem to be a wise course to take, cutting off his money and punishing those proven to be aiding him.............that is if we are dealing with a rational being.......the many rumors regarding 'dear leader's' excesses in living (drugs) and his erratic behavior would seem to indicate otherwise.

The entire sane world hopes a peaceful resolution is possible because the alternative is too horrible to contemplate.......

Between the AEGIS ship based, THAAD ground based, and even the ABM from the cold war, we have nothing to fear from any missile NK could launch from land. The only thing to worry about is if the madman develops a submarine launched missile, in which case there might not be enough time for the systems to react. So we will not be leaving the Western Pacific anytime soon. Trump in his first 6 months has already sent in one destroyer to harass the China built islands in the South Pacific, which is more than Obumer did in his eight years.

As to those ABM's or whatever flavor, all of you seem to be putting undue trust into an untested system and ignoring Israel's experience. It took hundreds of launches and dozens of software refinements before their iron dome got to its 90% shoot down. US systems have never been tested against an opponents missile, and Kim isn't sending katyusha firecrackers so it must work 100%.
