Message 1883306 - Posted: 12 Aug 2017, 0:35:32 UTC - in response to Message 1883303.

Fault is possibly everyones, some, or just a Maniac Kim.

That being said. Fault blame will be for the historians to disagree on.

The only thing that now matters is...

What do we do now?

Diplomacy, because every other option is very ugly.

What do we do now?

If I was president, I would wait and see what happens. I give Kim a 50/50 chance of carrying through with his threat to launch some missiles over Guam. If he indeed does that, I still wouldn't fire a counter-strike unless one of the missiles hits land. Which is worse?: Trying to hit one of Kim's test missiles and missing, hitting it, or doing nothing?

Every option has to take into consideration the North/South border. Millions, including the population of Seoul, the Capitol, are in range of tens of thousands of the Norths artillery and rocket emplacements. The North is known to have chemical and biological weapons.

Doing nothing, may embolden a Maniac Kim to believe his fantasies.

That's a good point, but I'm hoping the U.S. does nothing unless it looks like incoming N. Korea missiles are going to hit populated areas, then hopefully defense missiles will work.

Well, the nuke exploded with a mighty flash
As we fell into the sun
And the first one said to the second one there
I hope you're having fun
Rump on the run, Rump on the run
And the jailer man and sailor Kim
Were searching every one
For the Rump on the run
Rump on the run
Rump on the run
Rump on the run

He also believed... We are still alive, we are not at war. If we don't exacerbate the situation. I believe there will be "Peace in Our Time".

Got that wrong didn't he. So much for moral, ethics & intelligence.

blare?
ROK has a bunch of speakers already. I'm not sure but Barry Malinow might be more effective.
However likely much more effective, would be reading the super market specials touting 24/7/365 electricity, gasoline, cars and SUV's, and all the other things we take for granted in the west. Tell them it is free for the asking as soon as kim surrenders.

Too bad we can't hack his state TV and run that.

The locals in South Korea and in Guam seems not so worried about the situation.

Thousands of people have enjoyed a pop concert close to the demilitarised zone between North and South Korea this weekend.
Having speakers blairing it in to North Korea:)
K-POP http://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-asia-40914330/korean-border-concert-draws-thousands
Seoul http://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-asia-40892777/north-korea-s-nuclear-programme-how-worried-is-seoul

Guam http://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-asia-40890024/guam-resident-we-re-used-to-hearing-about-being-bombed

However in Japan.
http://www.straitstimes.com/asia/east-asia/japan-deploys-missile-defence-over-north-korea-threat-to-guam-reports
Japan has in the past vowed to shoot down North Korean missiles or rockets that threaten to hit its territory.
The defence ministry deployed the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) system in Shimane, Hiroshima and Kochi in western Japan, which North Korea had warned could be along its missiles’ flight path, public broadcaster NHK and Kyodo News said.

I wish to personally congratulate janne.

Who, unlike some others. Understands that Kim's threat to murder millions of innocent people. Is no joking matter.

My personal congratulations to all others that understand dark humor, a la M*A*S*H*.

Sarge...

You believe the following is "dark humor"?

I don't.

I do...

NK people are literally in the dark and isolated from the rest of the world. A little truth and knowledge to the NK people would go a long ways in changing things.

Let's get back to the reality of Mass Murdering and Enslaving Kim, threatening the lives of millions of innocents..
Yes, let's get back to reality!
One has 2 options:
A: Not worry about Ping Pong & his people
B: Use conventional or nuclear force.

With A, there is not anything an ordinary person can do about it.
With B, highlights the failure of diplomacy & millons die anyway.

Wait a minute, diplomacy is failing, so Clyde what would you do?

I do.

Knowledge is power.

It will not immediately stop Kim. It will plant the seeds for stopping Kim from with in.

The weak will always bow but the strong will get stronger and fight for freedom.

Your reality is not mine.

I find no problem with this, j mercer, nor Gary's expression of the same. I do not see it is as guaranteed to work, but it is a strategy and not a new idea.
And, Clyde, it seemed you were responding to my post, not Gary's response to it. My post about Panama, etc. ... was dark humor.
