There 'Is' NO ART in Diplomacy. NO DEAL a Diplomat CONjurs 'Is' a Deal. Look at PitifulTOTALFAILpeacePrizer and Minions, Diplomatic Deals with Anyone fO 8 Years. aka dA ART of TOTAL FAIL.

There Will Be Much DUST; SMOKE; FIRE; as dA EXPLOSIVE DEALs are 'Accepted' by NOKO. China and Russia will Be AGOG when dA SMOKE Clears and Debri Fields are 'Revealed'. Then They will be Very Artful in BOWING to DEALs Offered by GREATEST PREZ EVER.

Dats Right. DANGEROUS. fO shO

dA Way IT WILL BE.

Way of Yap

May we All have a METAMORPHOSIS. REASON. GOoD JUDGEMENT and LOVE and ORDER!!!!!

As for the crack re: starting a nuclear war......the only nukes that would be thrown would be FROM NoKo. The US can totally wipe the NoKo military from existence conventionally inside of a week...............remotely!

Can't you see how asinine that statement is?
No he can't because he has drunk the MIC tea. It is the thinking that the USA won on Vietnam and Afghanistan. It ignores the realities of what happens after the bombs stop.

Or put it this way, when the USA launches a bunch of missiles at DPRK how sure are you none will malfunction and end up in China? How sure are you that China's radar facilities won't read it as an attack on China? You know what their response will be to that. Total MAD. The USA can't absorb 1000 nukes.

As to DPRK, all they need to do to win is lob one nuke into Japan and one into South Korea. The USA won't be permitted to continue any action after that. And you will have killed a million innocent people and made huge swaths of land uninhabitable for centuries. Buy you can claim your pyrrhic victory.

Nixon killed our technical superiority when he canceled the rest of the Apollo program. Reagan effectively neutered the USA when he bargained away all our intermediate range weapons. Our fleets of airplanes to drop conventional bombs sit slowly rusting next to Davis Monthan AFB in Tuscon. It would take two years to get any of them out of mothballs.

Without those B52's short range aircraft, the ones that are presently grounded because their pilot oxygen systems fail would have to be used. Launched, from sitting duck for anti-ship missiles, aircraft carriers. Someone needs to keep up on defense matters.

Steve is right. Sit down and bargain. Isn't that what our idiot Prez says he is perfect at?!

NoKo has broken every agreement they made in the last 50 years be it with the US or the UN. What arrangement can be reached with a regime with that track record of compliance?

The answer for Kim is very simple as it was for Kadaffi until the Arab spring. Give up the nukes, give up the ICBMs and you will be rolling in American Foreign Aid and US Dollars very quickly. The big stumbling block is his maniacal ego and the scary part is Trump's ego is just as big.

So start by destroying every launched payload from NoKo. Warn the Russians and Chinese that this will happen and is no threat to either of their people or the people of NoKo. Then tighten the screws financially as I said before(and Ambassador Haley said today at the UN), and hopefully Kim Ding dong will see the light.

Everyone is correct that keeping Russia and China calm and on the sidelines is very important, the next 3 days will give an indication of where that's headed.

eye has explained the GOP very well, bully, Bully, BULLY. Is it any wonder why no country will honor obligations to the USA? It isn't a deal if it is one sided.

This is not consistent with the numerous assessments I have read. The US would eventually come out on top, but it would be very difficult and bloody. South Korea and Japan would suffer enormous damage and loss of life. If China became involved to support their long time ally, then the mess would escalate 10,000 fold. US infrastructure could be completely wrecked, with electricity, and food distribution failing. I don't think US residents would react favorably to cities being demolished, and a massive US refugee crisis unfolding. We would win, but with an enormous cost. I suggest there must me an alternative that doesn't cause the death and suffering of millions. Perhaps allow the situation to exist as is. Yes, Kim is a terrible person, and causes untold terror to his own people, but so far all of his blustering has been defensive in nature. He has not shown the ambition of attacking other countries, except for smaller local incidents. Even those are more like statements that say "Don't mess with me". Survival is a dominant factor in North Korea thinking. Not ambition.

Maximum speed for B-52 at 644.42 mph (1,037 km/h) I think it was a little faster than 100+mph to start with. Sometimes called artistic license in story telling.

Yes.
But the US Air Force didn't like the portraying of B52s with so many technical details and procedures that Stanley Kubrick did in his movie.

NORTH Korea has criticised the United States for deploying two bombers near its border, describing the move as “provocation” and warning it could lead to nuclear war.

I do think Kim in N. Korea is a little crazy, but I also think there is a cultural barrier that causes problems like these. When was the last time a North Korean leader visited a free country? Isolation can make people delusional.

Kung Fu Pantsdown spent several years in Switzerland being 'educated' in the finest privileged European tradition........it's his people who have never been exposed to other countries by Duckwalk's enforced, self imposed, policy of isolation.

Unfortunately it would appear his 'timely' assassination will be the best way to defuse the situation without war.

You might be right, but one has to consider the resulting power gap. Would the military assume power? if so, then the situation may not improve. The people have been repressed for a very long time, and know no other life. We know China wants stability, and not millions of refugees streaming across the border. Looking at recent history, nation building hasn't gone so well in the US's favor. I don't really know what the right answer to all this is, but there are certainly a lot of possible bad outcomes, depending on the chosen course forward.

I guess his inner circle over there is happy enough and scared enough that they don't want to rock the boat, and the rest of the country is brainwashed enough to think as bad as it is, it's worse elsewhere.

Decapitation won't work. Too many of the military heads would immediately start a war, they have nothing to lose. The only way it could work is to cause him cancer or some other wasting away that isn't a detectable poison. However it might take a few dozen in a row to get to a reasonable person.
