That was the main reason why China invaded the north back then. I doubt very much if their position has changed that much over the years.
I think maybe it has, if they have effective control of the Korean peninsula, without outright Political control(as Hong Kong, and effectively Viet Nam), that situation would be accepted eventually by the people there and the World. Japan would be apoplectic initially but again, I think China would see the economic advantage of commerce with Japan without the responsibility of governing them as is the case with the Ko's.

@CLYDE Yes the Han's history has been control and defense of it's domain usually defined as IndoChina. But as history also teaches the more power and influence a Regime/Government/Dynasty/Emperor gains, the more they desire. Basic Human Nature and our biggest failure- Greed - at one level or another.

Will the USA go to war to stop China?

Based on your actions since 1945? YES.

A better question is: Will the world go to war to stop China?

You missed, The new scramble for Africa: how China became the partner of choice
In 2014 alone China invested £56bn in African infrastructure. But is this colonialism in another guise?

'Competing' over Africa.

To me it seems like China has already won.
@US. Go for the muslim countries in Africa instead.

A Colonial Power only 'Wins'. If they have the Military Power to Control its 'Economic' Colony.

China doesn't need to control Africa with military power.
They have a LOT of trade agreements already.
May 10 (UPI) -- North Korea's cyberattacks have targeted banks in at least 30 countries since 2015, according to a Japanese television network.

NHK quoted a report from U.S. firm Symantec that stated the Kim Jong Un regime has developed methods to breach financial institutions in countries like Bangladesh and Vietnam.

Funds procured from bank theft is probably being used to finance North Korea's nuclear and missile development, according to the report.

In April, a Russian cybersecurity firm had claimed North Korea was linked to cyberattacks on financial institutions in 18 countries.

Hackers were traced to North Korea, after Kaspersky detected a mistake, and a hacker from a group operation known as "Lazarus" connected from North Korea.

The NHK report expanded the number of countries where banks were hacked, and provided some previously unreported details on how the attacks were conducted.
Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

I don't believe USA was in the quote.......what would be your reaction [edit](or more importantly the World reaction)[/edit] to a 'Chinese Preemptive Strike' against Kim?

China would not have to use nukes, just blockade all NK's ports. Can you see Ping Pong II do to China what he's doing to the US?

Don't forget he claims to be a former police officer. Police officers see an application of violence as the solution to all problems.

Will China do this? If not?

Of course not. China does not have the morality, nor ethics, of Western Culture.

Ah your "alternative history" at play again.

Does 25th June 1950 ring any bells in that "extensive" history brain of yours?
