I have my setting set to NOT use the GPU because GPU work units error out when complete with the error of 'This application needs newer GPU, at least ATI Radeon HD 5000 needed, exiting !'

Basically it spends time crunching the work unit and I end up with no credit :(

So what can I do about getting work units I can't process? Any fixes?

Suspending the GPU just tells BOINC that you do not want to run work on it now, but that you may want to do so in the future.

If you do not want to use the GPU at all, you have to tell the project that through the project preferences: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=project
Edit them, uncheck Use ATI GPU, click Update preferences. When BOINC next contacts the server, it will be told of this decision and stop ask for work for the GPU.
Any tasks for the GPU you still have in cache will need to be run - to error, or manually aborted.
