We finished v7 ages ago. We're on v8 now. Stop your BOINC client, delete the app_info and restart BOINC. It should get the stock app.

Not on its own... it's exit BOINC client, delete the app_info.xml file from var/lib/boinc-client/projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu/, restart BOINC and reset the Seti@Home project. If you don't reset, all the entries in the client_state.xml file will still point to the non-existing applications it stored from the app_info.xml file.

Thank you for the help. I'm back in business.

It's good to be running all cores at 100% again, it's winter over here and we can use the warmth.

If you finished v7 "ages" ago, then shouldn't we see something about v8 in the download page or the version history? But thanks for the fix regarding the xml file. I was able to get it started again on my Linux Mint install.

Don't confuse BOINC v7 with SETI@home v8. v7 is still the current version of BOINC and v8 is the current version of SETI as of this writing.

Ah, yes, it does appear I got those two mixed up. Probably because when you start from the seti@home page and click through to the download, it takes you to the BOINC page for download. I still remember the early days when seti@home was a stand alone app.
