Since I put the GTX 1060 in last Friday afternoon it is processing 5 times what the GTX 660 did over at Einstein. The 660 is now going half time here.

Running 1 at a time or have you tried doubling up and see how it does? I wouldn't try 3, might be too much for that card.

I've passed 109K now while in winter mode.

Cheers.

It is running 2 at a time and the GPU is fully loaded.

1 task at a time which gives me an average 96% GPU load, but that also depends on the type of w/u being processed at the time (some are higher while some a bit lower, but not by all that much). ;-)

Cheers.

The Einstein tasks which are very uniform in length took 1.5 hrs to run 1 at a time but only 2.5 hrs running 2.

I havn't done any Einstein work here for quite some time now, but I was running them 2 at a time as well (though I believe that they have new apps there since the last time I did any).

OTOH my x4 630 with the 2 GTX660's in it has a RAC of 17.8K here after 18 days of running.

Cheers.

The BRP apps were very good with 3 at a time, the pulsar apps maxs out both my GTX 660 and GtX 1060 with 2.

But you must remember that Einstein work is totally different to what we do here. ;-)

I've converted the farm to Linux. Up until Friday the two GTX1060's were running the Petri special and then I decommissioned the machines. I'm selling them off to get a couple of Ryzen's and the two GTX1060's will go in them.

In the mean time I have a couple of i3's running a GTX970 each with Petri special. I've ordered another pair of 1060's which will replace the 970's in order to cut down the electricity use a bit. Its nowhere near Christmas but that's my present to myself :-)

All those Guppies are biting a bit now, but not as badly so far as I thought that they would, though I'll likely be down into the 106K area by the morning.

Currently the 3570K w/ dual 1060 3GB ASUS Dual OC's is likely to drop below 44K, the 2500K w/ dual 1060 3GB Gainwards is still mid 43K while the Borg with its dual 2GB Gainward 660's is still in the mid 19K range.

OTOH I was just checking out the price on another 3GB Gainward for the 2500K and that's now down to $259 ($30 off) while the 3GB ASUS Dual OC's have only dropped down to their introductory price of $289 (only $10 off).

I'll see what happens by the end of June, I might even see how the 3570K's mobo handles a 3rd card (I know that the 2500K's does). :-D

Cheers.

Or even July- depends on when AMD release their Vega based cards. Should result in some re-pricing from Nvidia if they perform as anticipated.

Well I'm up to a RAC of over 111K now and sometime today I'll pass 150 million cobblestones. :-)

Cheers.

Wiggo is it fair to say your GTX 1060s produce twice as much as your 660s?

Yes it is Betreger, very much so while using 15% less power as well.

Cheers.

Interesting, over at Einstein my 1060 produces 5 times what my 660 did. I plan on replacing the 660 with another 1060 and split it's time with Seti and Einstein as I am currently doing with the 660.

Twice the performance while using less power.
Hard to argue with that.

In my case I replaced my GTX 560Ti with 2*GTX750Tis. If I could have I would have added a third, and still used less power.

Well I'm still maintaining a RAC in the 110-111K range, but I've found that these 1060's can't maintain the warmth in this room like the old 550Ti's and 560/560Ti did in these sub zero temps at this time of year.

I'll have to do something about that soon as these 1060's are barely able to hit 50C now and again with the fans on auto (the 660's can at least stay around 60C) and that's at the current 21C room temp, but mornings in here are down to 18C.

Cheers.

Wiggo,

Are you saying they can't generate enough heat? Sound like time to add more GPUs ;)

Yep, it looks like I'll be getting another two 1060's next month so that both i5's have an extra GPU each.

Cheers.
