Somebody needs to attend Psychology 101 classes.

At least the previous settings were pleasing to the eyes, this is nothing short of depressing.

I'm already depressed, but then I suffer from depression, so this isn't much worse than how I have FF set here, with an appearance extension known as FT DeepDark 14.1.2. I think I'll increase the font size, call it a day, for the moment.

Posting to let everyone know to GO TO Number Crunching, GO TO the "Panic Mode...(103)..." Thread, find HAL9000's Post with a Link to Color-That-Site for Firefox. (If you have Firefox, that is...) Click said Link and Install Color-That-Site. Upon completion of Install, you will be prompted to Restart FF. Upon Restart of FF, go to SETI@Home Page: Go Here.

THEN with the SETI@Home Page from above Open, GO TO "Tools" ---> Color That Site

For me, at that point, ALL I had to do was go to Background Colors ---> "Invert Colors" - (Check Box)

Then Foreground Colors ---> "Invert Colors" - (Check Box)

THEN go up and hit Save.

For some reason, at first, NOT every part of the Forum got Inverted... I had to set a couple of Pages in the Forum... All of a sudden, the WHOLE Site GOT FIXED!!! NOW, I have a Light Gray Background and Black Text all through the Site.

UNFORTUNATELY, by Inverting the Color Scheme, my Sig is adversely affected. Natural Sig for me is Blue Text for "Have TARDIS will travel" and "Pluto is still a planet"... NOW with the Inversion, the Sig is Yellow.

I'll GLADLY take the Yellow Sig if I can have the Light Gray Background with Black Text EVERYWHERE else!!! 😃 😃 😃 😃

Thanks TL. :-) Your instructions worked for me, after a tweaking a few things.

Inverting both fore & back grounds looks great to me, but still not perfect though it's way better than what's being shoved down our throats ATM.

Cheers.

That extension didn't work for Me, the inverting of one or both made the site unreadable, so I uninstalled the extension from FF.

Many thanks, TL, That extension worked fine.

I can read the status page a lot easier now, and I find the forum pages easier on the eyes as well.
Happy Crunching,

Graham

Well a lot of us have known for quite a while that David has lost the plot Chris, Credit New should be the best example here, but there are alternatives to alleviate the eyestrain problem buddy. ;-)

[Edit]Thanks to Hal I'm liking light shades of grayish brown with black text after a little fiddling. ;-)

Cheers.

Ah that's better :-)

Looks like I have to use FF here as in IE, it's a pigs dinner.

Oh I like the sound of that one!! If I get a moment later and I'm not social networking round this place ;) I'm going to experiment a bit...

edit: is text wrapping oddly for anyone else?

I have posted some comments in the News forum on the new format, as I believe Dr. Anderson may read them there. Not so sure he will keep up with any comments posted here in the Cafe.

And yes, some posts are not text wrapping properly.

Can't say that I like the new format. I find it more difficult to read, especially the server status page. Mind this is not as bad as the make over that has happen recently at Einstein Project. There they completely reorganised the site and have such poor linkage that is impossible to navigate your way around.

CNN the Eighties...

Hey that looks good, someone just change the text color to orange

As an example, I think this is more readable, opinions?

Is it horrible or what?

I'm different I guess. I kind of like the change. I just wish everyone would lighten up on the politics and get back to discussing science.
