Message 1872027 - Posted: 9 Jun 2017, 21:19:33 UTC - in response to Message 1871944.

I was one of the ones who reported missing emails, both from the SETI sites (including Beta) and from the BOINC site. The delayed BOINC messages arrived yesterday, and the SETI ones have appeared overnight. So it seems that a significant problem (which affected some, but not all, of us) has been identified and fixed. I'm surprised to hear that it's been attributed to DNS, but I haven't got any better insights.

As I said over on BOINC, I thought it could be a bad (malformed) A or MX record, part of DNS, that caused some very picky email systems to reject receipt, but I was guessing.
In any case I thank Eric for getting it sorted and getting the delayed e-mails out.

The Queen of the Raccoons hubby is doing good things again? When will it ever end?

I got a PM yesterday, and the obligatory email did arrive as well.
So, hopefully that problem is truly repaired.

Choice of colour on user interfaces is always 'difficult' to 'get right'...

Green buttons are fine so long as whatever buttons have suitably subdued contrast to all the other features. As in, your normal focus should be for whatever is most significant and with the easily readable highest contrast. The various controls should have a lower and consistent contrast...

Hint: Does the page look 'good' and with consistent intensities when viewed on a 'black-and-white' monitor rather than colour?... ;-)

Keep searchin',
Martin

Mmm... Yep. The white "Post reply" is almost lost in the burning brightness of the green area of the bright green button ;-) ;-)

I suppose it's the same colours as used on the server status page: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_server_status.php

Well, my sig banners still show over/under instead of side by side.
So, no luck in getting that fixed.

I suppose it's the same colours as used on the server status page: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_server_status.php

I believe it works for the status page. As it has a larger front size and it bold.
The forum buttons with white text on green are somewhat less user friendly. It is nearly as bad a bright yellow on white for me.
The darker green that is used when mousing over the buttons I find to be much more clear.

Love the upgrade. I restarted after a long hiatus and was amazed that my account was still live and that the site looked so good.

Well done to your webteam. Bootstrap is a great choice. and put me down in the "like the dark theme" column
