Yes, this site change has broken my newly added Weather Underground signature. Removed it for the time being until the changes settle out.

It seems someone is reading the comments, the SSP recently got much improved colors, but I am still very undecided on all the black everywhere.

And it has been pointed out that I am technically incorrect when I complained about quoted text being bold. It is not, actually. Just an overblown size that makes it appear that way, and looks like shouting.
Quoted text is surely not more important than the post itself, and there are other ways of making it clear that it is quoted, rather than part of the new post text.

Can we dispense with it, please?

And all the white text and numbers just in the last few minutes got lighter and harder to read.....now closer to gray on slate.
Please, geez, put that back the way it was!

Golden rule of development is broken.
If you add new feature allow opt out from it !
If you added new color scheme - make choice available to revert to old one.

In particular, white on gray is BAD choice.

Yeah, I just noticed that when I refreshed a page. Seems to be some minor tinkering happening on a Saturday, but not addressing the overall appearance. For some reason, the phrase "rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic" keeps popping into my head. ;^)

Yeah, the ship took on a bit more water with this change.
This is REALLY hard to read.

That quoted text marker is new, and better.

And that should be all that is needed.
Now, if we get the quotes back to standard size......................
And get the main text contrast back to a more readable level.

My eyes must be photophobic or something because they really do find these new colors more relaxing. But it doesn't really matter what I think since obviously my ophthalmological quirk is rare.

Did the text go white at some point earlier today?

And a question: green bar beside profile? user online?

Highlight special users is ticked in preferences by default. Green bar disappears if it is not ticked.

Thank you! That got rid of the green bars :)

I do not see any real benefits of the new design of the pages. Some say that the pages have become more easy to read on small screens like phones. On my phone everything is almost impossible to read. The old pages was way ahead imo on that platform.
When I look at the pages on my computer I am not able to read more than a couple of lines before my eyes get tired as the colors are hard on the eyes. And whenever the white boxes appear on the page, they
Yell at you loud and noisy and makes it hard to keep in focus

All in all I would love to get the old pages back. For me the new pages does not give me any new functions, they have rather done the opposite, drowned the pages in a grey sea of blur.

We changed the SETI@home web site to use Twitter Bootstrap, a CSS toolkit. This makes the site usable on small displays, and lets us use color schemes developed by other people (this one is called Slate).

Sorry, but is this some kind of joke? Did you test this on a smartphone even once? This is how it looks like while I type this on my S7:

No real mobile mode, no option to post videos, not even automatic link recognition:

Srsly, why?

Can you please go back to black and white. I have been a participant and donor for over 17 years. Like many of your loyal members I am getting older and my eyes are getting weaker. While i can read most things on with a reasonable level of contrast, this grey on grey slate is really hard to read. Please go back to a higher contrast message board.

Just stopping by here to add an ew at the dark scheme everywhere.
And why exactly do all posts on here now look like quotes and the quotes like shouting?

Am I missing something, or is there no link back to the home page on the menu bar?

The server page is readable for me, but white lettering on light green is, well, kinda ugh. A darker background would be much better.
