I have been running BOINC on 4 machines at home with no problem since 10-18-04. I'm on cable and everything happens with no attention on my part. I have a farm machine in Texas that is on a phone modem. It went on line on 12-31-04. On that day it contacted the server twice and lists 21 results. They all show a deadline of today. Is there anything I can do to make something happen other than connecting and waiting ? Dave Nelson |

Make sure "Disable BOINC Network Access" under "File" isn't checked. |

There isn't a check box, but the menu item can be checked and unchecked. |

You must be fuckin kidding. Top left hand corner of boinc application. Click on file and there it is. If you want work to upload under Transfer tab right click on each upload and click Retry Now. If you want to send and recieve work click on Project tab and left click on project you wish to send and recieve with. Then right click and select Update. Not sure if you are for real or if this is a big send up. <img src="http://www.setisynergy.com/images/stats/comb-556.jpg"> |

> I can't find the selection "Disable BOINC network access". > > Admiral, The machine in Texas...sounds as if you are not controlling this machine directly...otherwise why mention where it is located. Thus, I assume you must be remotely controlling it somehow. Is it a windows machine or unix/linux some other *nix? If remote by *nix, then you might be running a visual interface or text only interface. If remote by windows, you might be using some program like PCAnywhere or similar? These, and probably a few other questions, are brought to my mind by your question, and without the answers I/we can't advise. |
