There is a coming Big Moon on Monday. The Moon perigee is the nearest to Earth since 1948. I hope there will be no clouds.

Unfortunately, there are too many trees from my vantage point to see the moon when it's close to the horizon, but once above them, it sure did look awfully bright. I think the atmosphere is more clear this time of year.

I tried to watch the Leonid meteor shower for the past couple nights, and the brightness of the moon washes out the sky. I can't really tell if it looks bigger or brighter. But the ground seems more visible to me and I can see farther away, with no man-made lights around.
