Not saying it is completely impossible, but unless someone "goes postal" so even their union buddies want them gone, it is damn near next to impossible to fire a civil service worker and no politician can ever start that process. What the heck is tenure? Why does it take four years to fire a teacher who has molested kids? Civil service and unions!

Of a 45 year career I worked 24 years civil service for the municipality of City of Tacoma, WA. 35 of those IBEW 483. You mess up you got fired, union or no union. Period. So I do not buy into that from personal experience. Now on the state or federal level it is a crap shoot but that is only because we the voters let it go on. In the late 70s I worked for DOD Ft. Lewis, WA and I quit after two years. I did not want to be any part of it.

It comes down to we the voters. Vote informed and sensibly.

But looking at this forum, that is not going to happen any time soon. All I've seen in here for months is folks ragging on each other.
