I am glad that people outside the US take an interest in what goes on here.
I try to learn as much as I can about what goes on in the world, in addition to what happens here.
When I learn about events in the US, I use news sources from anywhere, sift through the results, and form an opinion.
It can be quite helpful to see how the rest of the world views events here.
I do my best to learn about Africa, Europe, Russia, China, both North and South Korea, Mexico, Canada, Venezuela, and any other country.
I am not an expert on any country, including the US, but I use multiple news sources regardless of the origin of the event.
Even with US news, I will look at stories from as many US sources as I can find. These include left, right, and independent.
Only by listening to what others have to say, do my viewpoints mature.

I have always looked for solutions to problems independently of religious/political ideologies.
If I see a problem, I search the world, and history to find solutions to those problems.
If a solution was successful in history, where ever it may be, then there is a solid chance the solution will work with the problem at hand.
Likewise when I see traps of history repeating itself, then I know what to avoid.

Steve

As the decision was unanimous, please explain how it can be "Liberal insanity" when one of the judges, Judge Richard R. Clifton, was appointed by President George W. Bush.

Well, to use the word 'Liberal' the way most of you around here use it, Dubya was a VERY liberal President.

Evidence for this statement includes (but not limited to):

1. NCLB (No Child Left Behind).
2. Medicare Part D.

The first was a massive Federal power-grab into what has traditionally been under the control of State and Local Governments. The second was a classic example of modern tax-and-spend liberalism.

Dubya a Conservative (or a Libertarian)? Pull the other one.

So why does SCOTUS sometimes split 4/4 along party lines if Dubya appointed two of the members.
At the moment it is;
On the right
Reagan - one
H W - one
G W - two
and on the left
Clinton - two
Obama - two.
Your argument would imply a 6/2 vote would show up more frequently.

What a load of bull****.
Haven't you noticed that most of the info I post actually comes from US sources. So if your idea that I don't understand anything, then you are saying respected sources within the US don't understand the US way.
When I find something of interest on a site outside the US, i nearly always check to see if it on a US site, and then post that link. Some of the sites I use and are behind paywalls. I do not give you the links to those unless they allow occasional limited pages.
If I do use sources outside the US, like the BBC, AP or Reuters, it's because most US news sites are actually very slow at publishing the story.
Like post 1846790 where I used the BBC, it was because it was on three sites over 15 mins before I saw it on any US site.

WK,

You might understand USA issues better than many/most from Europe. But, your viewpoint is still colored by the Euro-colored glasses you are viewing things through.

Frequently, some European sources are a LOT quicker to publish news and information about problems in the USA than USA media is. Case in point, 'Slick Willie'.

Various USA media totally ignored Clinton's... problems... with keeping his zipper zipped up until Drudge forced the issue. European news agencies were, however, much quicker to publish the information.

What I think that has a few people upset about the situtation is that you and a few others from outside the USA seem to want to do nothing but criticize the USA and our own political decisions, when really you do not have the standing to complain (ie. NOT a US Citizen).

Lets look at a reverse situtation. 'Brexit' and my responses. I said that the issue should be up to the citizens of the UK... only....
And another one... Scottish independence... I said that the issue should be up to the citizens of Scotland... only.

Now then, I was happy with the way one of them turned out (Brexit), but not the other (Scotland)... But.. that is fine. It is, after all, NOT *my* country in question. The People in first Scotland then Britain voted, and that was that. Above all else, I value the democratic right of self-determination.

Now then, when I don't understand things, I WILL ask questions... And, sometime, I will give opinions... But, at the end of the day it was not My Country, but Theirs. I respect their electoral decisions. Perhaps you all should use a lot more 'it seems to me', and a lot less direct condemnation.

After all, the USA is *our* nation, not yours... Didn't we fight a couple of wars (1776 and 1812) to establish that?

Don't blame me, I voted for Johnson(L) in 2016.

You might take the view that others shouldn't poke their nose into other countries affairs. But Americans, including Obama and Trump, and American companies have expressed their views on Brexit, before and after the vote.

Only yesterday, Apples Tim Cook expressed his views on post-Brexit, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38920860

And regarding Clydes views on my understanding US culture etc. It is obvious looking from here that the US people posting on this site, and others I frequent, don't share one common set of beliefs, you all have differing views of virtually all subjects.

That is very true. Within the same state, city, political party, religion, or even town or street, viewpoints can be very different from one another.
As the US has been called a melting pot, we are represented by every nationality and culture.

Absolutely. Even those sources, or commentator's, you may have great disagreements.

They are also educational.

Agree.
Also to remember, is that all sources have a bias whether admitted or not partly due to the 'Life Filters' they are part of Nationally, Regionally, and Locally.
