I do not have all the answers, but I do hope that cooler heads can prevail, and not start a war.
I do not know how Americans would react if an avoidable war was fought with people and buildings on our own soil being destroyed.
It has become easy to state what should happen somewhere else, but the reaction may be different if large US cities were attacked.
China and Russia certainly have the capabilities to do just that, so in my opinion, caution and cool thinking might be an advantage.

I do agree that 'far left' anarchists, and wild young liberals too, need to take a step back and make sure that they are protesting responsibly.

Instead of lighting hair on fire, engage in dialogue or go get involved in an organized local effort.

Instead of rioting, email your elected officials.

Instead of violence, register to vote and educate yourself before voting.

Instead of being destructive, sign a petition.


That said, the people on the right need to remember that this is a two party system, and arguing about one's beliefs in the hopes of a good outcome is called democracy.
Silencing or disregarding the opposing party is tyranny.

Again anyone who's 'been there' does not want war. Steve's point is well taken as to the effect of the destruction of life and property on American soil but the converse is that one insane puffed up(and propped up) little dictator has already promised to do just that. Maybe the intentional destruction of his next missile test in flight would 'discourage' his ambitions. If not the loss of the test facilities through an 'accident' might......

The one policy that has stopped it from happening in 71 years is MAD. Knowing you and your loved ones will also be destroyed by any exchange prevents the holocaust.............except in the scenario of a truly mad man or regime bent on the destruction of the current World(ISIS for one). The problems are many and varied but showing abject cowardice in the face of bullies is never the answer.

They understand and fear only strength and resolve.

Like preventing speakers from being heard, or boycotting hearings? I agree civilized discourse is what is needed, but if there is no one present to listen from one side or the other there is no discourse. When elected officials refuse to voice their objections and abdicate their voice in Government the other side wins by default. The Dims need to start understanding this basic fact of life.

Not a great JFK supporter. And yes, I am old enough to remember. But I respectfully disagree.

The Bay of Pigs fiasco. Was The CIA lying to newly elected JFK. Afterwards, he never trusted anyone, excepting his brother. JFK also took full Public Responsibility - Truman's 'The Buck Stops Here'.

Vietnam... Where I served two Combat Tours, under LBJ and Nixon.

It is unknown if JFK would have emulated LBJ.

Both of those are on JFK's hands.
