Got to be 2nd or 3rd in Croatia in SETi@home...like we used to say here:
"Better be 1st in village, than last in town!"
;)

Gotta upgrade some GPUs more!

. . I have had a peek at your stats. My HP rig {Core2 Duo E7600} with the 1050ti {since Christmas} is putting out similar numbers to your 1050ti rig, but with the GT730 that it replaced, the same rig was managing a RAC of over 5,000. So I can confidently say you can get higher numbers without upgrading your hardware. You may simply need to revamp your settings on the 2 rigs with GT730s in them.

4,000,000 in total credit in sight :-)
My i5-3570k machine with one 1060 and one 1050ti card is doing great with a RAC of 32,467
Running 1 task per card and 2 CPU tasks on that machine.
And I just got a hold of an A8-6600K CPU, so going to change the A6-5400K CPU in my AMD machine so I can utilize the full potential of my new RX 480 card.
Only running 2 tasks on that card at the moment due to only 2 CPU cores, still doing great with a RAC of 11,327 should be interesting to see with 3 or 4 tasks.

. . Well done, your rig is doing better than my Pentium-D with 2 x 1060s in it.

I've passed 10 million credits on seti, and first in my country (also it seems the only one active, not something to be proud of). and it has been 13 years, although I can't remember how I found out about seti@home back in 2003, back in the dial up days.

. . Well done.

. . It is always nice to get such milestones under the belt.

. . I can only say that my CPUs crunching add their share to my numbers. But then I am only crunching for seti@home. Only one rig does not use the CPU because it is too low powered and is flat out supporting the GPUs.

. . But I can understand why some people feel that way.

Yea I have been watching that battle for 8th and 9th. One more maintenance day and you would get the lead back with your large cache :)

It's still amazing what his one computer with 4 GPUs puts out compared to your 8 computers and 18 GPUs.
My Linux box (1070 + 980) hasn't leveled out yet, but he is still 5 times my output.

I wish I had $7500 CAD to throw at a new box :)

. . I just wish I knew and felt confident with Linux so I could have a play with the CUDA60 special app :)

. . Almost better than a hardware upgrade :)

That guy must be using some "agency, school or local municipal hardware"...don't see how much you can make a farm in B&H like that, as they don't have so much money for a new hardware!
& I'd probably hear about it....

So let's keep this quiet! ;)

I believe that CPU power can help out with WCG projects in cancer, Ebola, HIV & other diseases. Just recently HFCC project returned results for brain tumors in children & the same university started a new SCC project! So that's why my CPUs are there...
Just hoping others will follow my advice & check WCG on my link in GIF in signature. Thx!

BTW, my 1050TI didn't even start a game even after 3 months...bought it in a day, when I sold 3 old obsolete GPUs with only $100 extra to give in!
Made all the difference...would like to upgrade more, with more chipsets...but the money is an issue in Croatia, as we get a bit down 1.000€ to live (mine slightly more)...

. . I think it is a "co-operative" effort. A whole lot of people or groups linked under one identity. Or a very big computing farm, too big for a school I think, with all that GPU hardware.

. . But we will keep this just between you and I :)

And as soon as You can get a computer running (Ubuntu or whatever) linux with maxwell or pascal GPU('s) I'll donate the latest CUDA app. Just ask.

I'm a teacher and I use my home computer and pay the bills my self/with my wife.

I've considered solar energy/a biofuel engine as an alternative to
a) heat the house and make all the electricity
b) to make all this Seti stuff affordable
c) as a future hobby
d) use the solar farm/ oil crop field to be expanded into an energy farm at our summer place (Winnie the Pooh has xxx m², I have 5000 m² unbuilt land) directed to he morning sun at a low down hill near the polar circle.

So not a chance with the a-d), but I can have a dream. Let's c) .

. . Hi Petri

. . Is there any flavour of Linux that is best for this project? I was contemplating going with Mint as it was recommended as very straightforward to set up. I must get this all together.

Hi Stephen,

I've heard that mint is easy and I tried it once. Then I tried ubuntu and I did not find it hard to set up that either.

I'm more in for a "temperature controlled software for Linux", to keep us safe with GPUs & CPUs...like the ones for Win called Tthrottle! But so far, everybody suggested only "monitoring software", not so much a "temp. control. soft" for Linux... :D
