It's unfortunate that some of us don't have enough empathy with people with a mental illness to avoid getting angry at or insulting them for something they have no control over. If yelling at a person with Down syndrome to smarten up or having a group laugh at the delusions of a schizophrenic seems like cruelty, this quite possibly should too.

As the moderators should not have to repeatedly point out to we old-timers, if anyone here gets under our skin enough that we become angry with them, simply find their "User ID" from their profile (I bet we've memorized Mark's by now), go into your account then Community Preferences and add their ID # to Filtered Users. Then you will never see a PM or thread or post from them again, only quoted text from others. I know, simple and obvious and common knowledge... so why not being done? And if they are making us angry because they've posted something contrary to the policies, hit the red X anonymously and let the impartial cooler heads of the moderators who can actually fix the problem handle it better than arguing can.

One thing I fail to understand, Why Oh Why do these people who profess to dislike Mark and his comments so much, still insist on reading and commenting on the threads Mark has started. If you dislike or hate him so much, then DON'T read threads that Mark started!!!!!

The fact that they do read and post to these threads, in my opinion is very like shooting fish in a barrel and getting close to trolling,, or even cyber-bullying. It seems that all they wish to do is to try to provoke Mark into an outburst that will get him banned for that behaviour. I feel that the provoker should also recieve a similar punishment.

I am NOT trying to excuse Mark for his drinking, or for what he posts after a few drinks, he is an adult and as such responsible for his own actions. However I AM trying to defend his right to post within the forum rules.

This post is not aimed at any one person, but if you feel offended by it, then probably it WAS aimed at YOU.

I fully understand that this probably means that I am now a target for flaming etc., Enjoy.
