I do think, or at least have let myself to believe, that my level of social interaction here on the boards has kept me from going over that edge.
At times, I know I have not been a good kitty.
And I have been chastised for that.
More than once.
So, I am not hiding my head in the sand pretending that I am just like all of you.
I am not./
Nor would I, at this point in my life, wish to be so.

Not that you are not worthy of being emulated, but simply because I know now that my own personal space it worth preserving and protecting.
Kinda late in life to be able to acknowledge this, but better late than never.

The PC term of the day does not change it's effect on one's life.

It wasn't changed due to hypersensitivity or political correctness or any other reason than simple accuracy; "bipolar" was initially introduced to differentiate it from unipolar chronic depression and then it was officially changed because bipolar cyclothymia wasn't included in manic depression so it was an incomplete designation.

(FYI My mother is bipolar, although after two decades tweaking her meds. someone who had just met her would never know, so I look into these things. :^) )

No of course it doesn't, but these conditions are treatable, nobody has to suffer or struggle on their own, that is the point.

Chris, I tried that route maybe 40 years ago.
The meds just made me more unpredictable. They zonked me out of any hope of connecting with reality.
Have you any idea what it is to live on heavy doses of mind altering drugs?
The doctors think they are helping you, but in reality, they are driving you further down the rabbithole.
Valium might be OK for somebody that is in a good state of mind and needs something to give them an escape route.

But for one who had already exhausted all other routes, it was inexplicable for the doctors to give me more.
And the other mind altering drugs..........cannot even remember the name of them.
Flushed the lot down the pipe one day.
It takes months for them to get into your system, and months for them to go away.
Once I realized that they were leading me down I path I did not choose, I left that course of 'treatment'.

Last resort kinda meds.
I shall remember it's name, because I hated it so much.

I was a functional manic at the time.
Held a job and work.
And after just going through my brother's suicide?

Well I'm not surprised it wasn't successful... that was quite a long time ago and a lot has been learned since then and the therapies are much more effective (and less hit-and-miss of not knowing which to use.)

Is that I am the gentlest, kindness man you may ever meet.
I get loud and abrasive at times, for sure.
But meet me on the street, or at work, and it's all smiles.

I have no agenda on the forums, other than to see that work is issued on a regular basis.

Have you ever wondered why things go quiet around here Mark when you're on in your "Alternative Reality"?

I was going to do some catching up around here, but I'll leave it until the morning now.

I've said what i wanted to no more / no less Mark , just don't try " veiled threts " with me coz they won't work .
I've only said what a lot of other people probably think , but won't post on the boards , I think your ok 80% of the time but from Friday to Sunday if you ain't been " holidayed" you do come across like a complete drunken fu#knut 8/9 times out of 10 .

If you reply belive me i'm no angel and fractured more laws than most people , even "spent" some time at "her Majesty's Pleasure " when i was younger , I'm on my weekend now and smoking a certain plant that i grow ( over here could be looking at 5 / 10 years inside for that ) but in moderation it's ok ( even if it's against the law ;-) ) It's when people "binge" be it drugs or drink , that's when the problems do start and the conciquences sometimes in't that pritty for anybody .
