I never learned it, sadly.
But my grandparents spoke it fluently about the house I now live in.
And I hear them from time to time..............
You see...Germans have movies too.
Just like the rest of us.

Even the 'dirty harry' movies were translated.
Although you would not notice it for the first few minutes,. because no words were needed.
Dirty Harry..........in German./
And the voice over is quite horrible.

+Actually, it translates very well...............
You want a .45 up your arse?
It does not really matter what the local dialect is.

What am I looking for?
I do not know, really.
For I have not found it yet..
IF I ever do, I shall pawn and pet and scream and sigh with relief.

That day may never come to me.
And I realize that to be true./
However, I am willing to spend my life hoping that it could happen.
And there is no finer quest in this world than the search for something greater than what happens to be in one's hands.

And I cannot tell you enough how important the following statement is.........
Just accepting where you are does NOT mean you are in the right place.

I have never stopped searching beyond the boundaries laid out before me.
I have always sought to jump the fences, break the barriers, to escape my limits.
For, that is where life really is. Not here and now, but out there somewhere.
No, LOL.......I ain't Settleing................not ever.

For what I am looking for can not be easily found, and I know that. I have to keep looking though................. What if what I seek was just around the corner? And I gave up just then? That is what drives me forever.
Time and hurt and trials./ Never giving up hope.
For to give up hope is to die. And kids, I ain't ready to go there just yet.

Meow./

And Lori does NOT like Jennifer whatsoever.
But I I forever shall.

Because..............
She is the genuine spitting image of Lori when I met her and my jaw dropped.
I mean, absolutely the god given image of Lori, the love of my life.
So, forgive me when my eyes roll back in my head any time I see Jennifer Nettles.
I have a real life one waiting on me. Lori.
And she is every bit as beautiful. Yah, she is. Trust me on this.

Now you may have a clue why I was so smitten so many years ago.
I walked into this bar, years ago, and WHAM.......it was over and done with in about 30 seconds.
I was, and shall forever be her mate.

But, I really get off when I watch Jennie./
Because I can reach over and touch Lori and feel the same beauty as anything Jennifer has to offer.

Yes, Lori was and is still that beautiful. Age has been very kind to her.
I am not kidding................
I happen to be in love with a supermodel kinda gurl.
And, at the age of 60, she has not aged over her 18yo looks.

Lori does not perform....................but she could.

If she did, this would be her song.
For, she lost her mother many years ago, and she still misses her so very much.
She tells me often enough how the brightest star in the sky is her mom's soul watching over her.
And ever since she told me that, I see that star and thank her for sending Lori to me.

This is difficult to post.
But, I guess the very fact that I can is proof that some healing has occurred.
I have beat myself up over her for long enough now.
JJ. My love that was never meant to be, I guess.
If I saw her face to face today, my heart would still stop beating for what might seem like an eternity.

And it is only recently that I have come to grips with this.
The fact of the matter is, that in that one instant, my life changed.
Her's however, did not.
Why did I finally deal with this?

I am approaching my 60th year on this planet, and I do have somebody else that has shared that for almost half of it.
Somebody that does love me with all of my many faults, and they are abundant.
Spoke to her about twenty minutes ago, and she calmly said.....
Mark, I will speak to you tomorrow, if you are sober.
No cruel words, no admonishments. Just a promise that she still loves me and will talk again when I am more up to the task.
If that ain't love, after 30 years, who needs to be married to prove the point?
When it comes down to the gutter, there is little that I would not do for her or her for me..........ever.
I would, and have at times, turn my world upside down to help her. I did so years ago when SHE was a raging alcoholic.
I went days with out sleeping to watch over her and her son when her ex was threatening to kill them both.
And one night, whilst I was over at her place watching over her, he broke into my house and stole about 50 thousand in stereo equipment and albums that could never be replaced.

Whatever thoughts I have of protecting her forever were cemented in place that night. He could get to me, but I was damned sure he would not ever hurt her again. I cannot tell you how I handled it, the statute of limitations has not yet run out.
Let's just say that he, uhhh, had to launder his shorts and never ever came to bother her again.
I am not a man prone to violence, but given a choice between me and mine is somewhere you do NOT want to be, ever.

Which brings me back around to me and mine. Lori is mine, JJ is not. Never was.
And I can finally after all this time, now say that with the feeling for once in my heart that I know it is over.

When JJ passes, I am gonna have the meltdown of all meltdowns. I know that too.
But, until that day, I am going forward with Lori. The woman who has dealt with my problems and I with hers for so long now. God intended for us to be together as one. And he does not care whether we tied that promise to a wedding ring or not. Which is another $10.000.00 story................yah, ten grand. And she pawned it for pennies.

Well, this is a long enough story for today.
I truly would welcome any questions you may have about me or my history.
Feel very free to ask. I am not a proud man, very humble these days, and would answer anything truthfully.

Meow for now,
Mark

Not to worry.\

Enough has been put in place that when I perish, the kitties shall be cared for.
I have assured that when I die. some special friends will carry on in my absence.

Kitties shall be cared for.
Names and numbers have been distributed to various interested parties.
I shall continue to care for them as long as I am able to.

And they may precede me, as they are both over 17yo cats.................
But if in the event that circumstances reverse themsleves................

The kitties are covered.
There are plans in place.

I just thought you should know that. yes I have given thought to forever care.

Meow.

Please understand that I am trying to teach our youth.
That old age is not an adversity, but something to be cherished, for it has learned many more lessons than they have.

LOL. I loved that movie. And anyone who has ever watched it. That was a teachable moment.

I'm 64 now, And at one time I thought I knew it all at 18. Hell, I'm just starting to learn now.
Except for my youngest kid, They are all in their 40's. Only now do they realize that I wasn't a dolt:)
I have been imparting my some what limited wisdom on the grand kids. They seem to be way more receptive. Just as I was when I was a kid, to my grandparents thoughts. I think its because as grandparents we are a heck of a lot more patient.

Not a good year for cats in general.
I have witnessed many who perished because nobody thought they could spare a couple of freaking dimes for a cat dinner. I could not save the one who was prowling about Lori's back door, We put out food and water and even a little kitty shed for him to shelter the storms..................
His fate is unknown at this time.

Cats deserve better fates. They know know harm to anybody. Except maybe mice.
But the fact remains that they are the most loving, caring and beautiful animal that God created.
Cats will instinctivly pick up and nurture another animal's young as if it were there own.
Because they know it needs help. And if does not matter what it is. Stories abound about cats caring for all sorts of other critters. Nature has a lot of nasty reality to it, but it also has a lot of beauty as well.

Cats have survived for millenia. And shall continue to until mice go extinct.
Which I do not expect to happen until man himself perishes and ceases to provide them with their source of food and water.
Unlike certain propositions, I don't think that ants will be the last living species upon this planet.
Because cats can EAT ants.
And they are gonna outlive all of us until the last one passes peacefully, on a mountaintop somewhere because she climbed there, happy as can be, purring till her last breath.
And, God will look down and see the end of the earth. And know that in the end, his world was last enjoyed by his finest living creation...........the cat.
