How about this one? Forget individual anthems, let's just have one :-)
Ein zwei drei vier
Lift your stein and drink your beer
Ein zwei drei vier
Lift your stein and drink your beer

I could drink to that.
It's still Oktoberfest.

LOL, make sure you listen to Mario Lanza sing it while you're lifting that stein :-)

Lifting steins is easy with some help.

Naw that's Lager Louts & Yanks abroad :-)

But it is true that the Irish claim prominence in abuse of alcohol.
Something to do with a special gene that even allows them to metabolize methanol with little detriment.
An Irishman can drink anyone under the table. No?

No. Provide evidence of your statements. For someone who only joined the boards 3 days ago, you're making a lot of presumptions, or were you born antagonistic?

He didn't "join" three days ago. He is a sock puppet.

Well i don't ever see you provide evidence of your outrageous statements, but then i've only been on the boards for 3 days, as you say.
You seem to resort to the "I'm an Elder, and who are you?" argument much too quickly.

Not a sock puppet.
A sock puppet implies using multiple accounts to bolster a single message.
I have had previous accounts, but have no way of EVER getting back into them.
Only this account!

So suck on that sock Gary.

Well anthems as seen by this thread can provoke a "hot" debate, so to provide some brevity, posted the lyrics of a famous song from a well known Yankee classic entitled The Student Prince.

So grab a stein or 2 of beer :-)

Still think it'll make a superb anthem.

Might ask about that over in Q&A. There are methods.

Well to be honest i care not to log into old accounts.
It usually is a conscious decision to abandon old crap.
1- change email address to something void.
2- change password to a random string of characters in notepad, copy, and paste twice.
3- Uninstall Boinc
4- find all instances of account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml on all computers you've accessed the seti boards on and delete the authenticator.

Voila, old crap gone.
Install Boinc and start over.

My opinion is that these arrogant, overpaid sportsmen should be kneeling and kissing the ground they walk on for the blessing they have to be able to play a game for millions of dollars in this great country.
Instead, they come off like snot nosed little children.
The NFL should immediately add a clause to all contracts that proper respect for the national anthem is mandatory behavior at all publicly televised events.

And if anybody does not, immediate suspension is in order.

I am not saying that they cannot express their opinions off of the playing field.
That is certainly their right.

But, on the field, they should be expected to honor this country and those who have paid with their lives to make it our home.

Ding Ding!

We have another winner!

Not like no one's mentioned kneeling yet.
Not like some of them aren't kneeling.
Not like some people are taking offense to their kneeling.
Make up your minds.
Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes.

The "Standing with hand over Heart" at the playing of the "Recent National Anthem" is a ritual.
Rituals are comforting, in that we just do stuff, and it's enough to just do the stuff, without knowing why we do them.
As Sarge, and others, have alluded, the fact that the protesters are kneeling
is in fact a prayer to the line ...
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

For many it's not "the land of the free".

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/oct/4/nearly-one-third-americans-boycotting-nfl-because-/
Nearly one-third of American adults say they are less likely to watch a National Football League game because of the growing number of Black Lives Matter protests that are happening by players on the field, a Rasmussen poll found.

Thirty-two percent polled online and by telephone said they’re willing to skip NFL games this year because of player protests over racial issues, the pollster said on Tuesday. Only 13 percent said they were more likely to watch the games because of the protests, and 52 percent said the protests had no impact on their viewing decisions.
