I cloned the SSD from my main cruncher, Server01 ID 7953787, when I replaced the motherboard so I was able to add the fifth Nano GPU. That system is working fine with the new MB and cloned drive. Now I am using the original MB and SSD in a new build. I uninstalled BOINC and deleted the BOINC directory, but when I reinstall BOINC, it still sees it as computer 7953787. How do I make it forget the original computer ID? GitHub: Ricks-Lab Instagram: ricks_labs |

Try changing the new build's computer (network) name. You wouldn't want two computers with the same name on the same LAN segment anyway. |

Look like the Computer ID is stored somewhere besides the BOINC directory and the installer accesses it and uses it, instead of assigning a new unique ID. GitHub: Ricks-Lab Instagram: ricks_labs |

Try changing the new build's computer (network) name. You wouldn't want two computers with the same name on the same LAN segment anyway. Wait, Now I see it has a new computer ID! When I checked in the BOINC interface, it still indicated the old number. Maybe it had to sync or something... GitHub: Ricks-Lab Instagram: ricks_labs |

I seemed to have created a problem... My original system now has over 600 abandoned tasks. I have not touched that system and definitely have not intentionally abandoned any tasks on it. I only intentionally aborted 2 tasks on the new system. My first thought is that maybe these were tasks that got dropped when I changed the MB on the originally system many weeks ago, but I was very careful to burn thru all of the tasks before that change. Looking through the abandoned tasks, seems like they were only sent yesterday. I am having trouble with the new system, so it is offline now. Maybe it will be more clear when I bring it back online. Let me know of any thoughts... Thanks GitHub: Ricks-Lab Instagram: ricks_labs |

Really need help here. I am continuously getting abandoned tasks on my main server. Not sure how to stop this from happening. I took the new system down, but it is still happening. Is there a way to delete the new system? GitHub: Ricks-Lab Instagram: ricks_labs |

The 4GPU system gives these errors, The CPU WUs show as being aborted by user, the GPU WUs (at least a couple of them give this error) Running on device number: 0 Priority of worker thread raised successfully Priority of process adjusted successfully, below normal priority class used GPU not found: type=ATI, opencl_device_index=0, device_num=-1 WARNING: boinc_get_opencl_ids failed with code -1 OpenCL platform detected: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. WARNING: BOINC supplied wrong platform! The 5GPU system shows them as being a mass abandonment at 5:45:00 UTC Things that come to mind- I'd suggest making sure the date & time are correct on the systems. Double check the video drivers that Windows hasn't done it's usual automatic update to what it thinks is a better driver. Re-run the Lunatics installer to make sure you've got the correct applications selected. Check that if you've got a 3rd party AV programme running it's not clobbering files in the project directory. I think someone else already suggested it- make sure none of the systems have the same name. Reset the project. Grant Darwin NT |

Yes, that issue happen on my new system. I think cloning the SSD caused it to look like the 5 Nano system. I hope that is resolved now. Looks like new aborts have stopped showing up on the original system. On my new system, I have had driver issues. I have it working now with 2 ProDuo's. Still need to work out some issues before I get the third up and running. The system is updating graphics drivers automatically, which is different from my other system. How do you stop this from happening? Thanks for the help! GitHub: Ricks-Lab Instagram: ricks_labs |

I seemed to have created a problem... My original system now has over 600 abandoned tasks. "Old" computer?: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=7953787 "New" computer?: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=8091204 When 2 computers have the same ID the server see this as "cheating" and marks the tasks as "Abandoned" The computer ID is only saved in client_state.xml E.g. in mine client_state.xml there is <hostid>4832843</hostid> for: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=4832843 I did a search in all .xml files in my BOINC Data directory for 4832843 (sched_request_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml also have <hostid>4832843</hostid> line but is not important, BOINC do not read it) You can search for 7953787 and 8091204 in your client_state.xml files (or in all .xml files in BOINC Data directory). The system is updating graphics drivers automatically, which is different from my other system. How do you stop this from happening? How to temporarily prevent a driver update from reinstalling in Windows 10, near the bottom of the page is a link to the "Show or hide updates" trouble shooter package. In Win10 Pro, you can also use the Group Policy Editor to block certain types of automatic updates, however it also blocks manual updates as well- once you set things up using this option you need to use the GPE to re-enable updates to what ever it is you've blocked if it needs changing in the future. I seemed to have created a problem... My original system now has over 600 abandoned tasks. Yes, this is probably what happened. Perhaps during the time I struggled to bring the system up, BOINC made contact with the server when it was still setup as a clone of the first system, though I am certain I did not run any tasks in this state. When I finally got the new system running, the first thing I did was uninstall BOINC and Luanatics and move then moved the BOINC directory to BOINC-. Then reinstalled BOINC and tried running tasks. Now the system is up and running and no more Abandoned tasks on either system. I still have a lot of work to do on this system. Still need to deal with installing the correct drivers and getting the 3rd ProDuo working. GitHub: Ricks-Lab Instagram: ricks_labs |
