first off this does not make sense two user accounts with the same nick, but different ID numbers. Next is when I go join the team that I created sometime back, it does not give any type error so I assume I joined back in it as the org founder. But nothing is really shown there that relates to the current nick as far as credits. This older account was not classic...

My old credits are shown, but nothing related to the current credits.
I would sure like that credits showing up on the active account.

If you have two BOINC-SETI accounts, and the other one is showing all your past credits, there is no way to merge or move the credits from one account to the other.

Do you still have access to the email account used for the account with the past credits? If so, you can use the 'forgot password' link and have it sent to you. If not, do you have any machines there were attached to that account? You may be able to sign in with the authentication key stored in the XML file.

Otherwise, unfortunately, you're out of luck.

You CANNOT have credits from one account name transferred to another account name. What you should have done is signed into the ORIGINAL account with the e-Mail Address and the Password that you created at the time you opened the original account.

If you want the original account's credit; you WILL need to sign into that account and crunch SETI under that account. (Hence leaving this new account dormant.) Thankfully, SETI allows multiple accounts; so, having the dormant account doesn't hurt anything.

So, it's up to you which account you wish to use at this time. Also, (if you decide to use the original account), once you've signed into your original account you may Update the e-Mail Address and Password at that time.

The Account Names are the same, as stated in the first post.

The account numbers are different.

The team shows Enigma as the founder with all the credits,
then it also shows Enigma as a new member with few credits.

You state multiple accounts, under the same nickname?

Yes, I know, (personally), an Enigma who's Co-Founder of Team Calm Chaos. I know that you are not him. You can have MULTIPLE Accounts with the same name/handle.

ok...

I did find a 'merge' that had the credits listed from an older computer.
clicked the button, now waiting to see if those credits are added.

thanks for info on nicknames.

edit: now here is something that does not make sense.
that merge of credits is referencing the org account (2005),
so how does it know that this 'new' account (2007) is related to that old one?
To me it shouldn't know about it.

Don't know long it takes for the credits to xfer.

There are over two dozen accounts with the name Enigma: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/user_search.php?action=search&search_string=Enigma&country=any&profile=either&team=either&search_type=date&action=Search

It's usually immediate.

It only knows accounts based upon the email you enter.

Don't know long it takes for the credits to xfer.

You probably see "Merge duplicate records of this computer" or "Merge computers by name"
This only combines 2 "computers" into one (if possible) - the resulting 1 computer stay on the same account, the account credits are not changed.

It is NOT possible "for the credits to xfer" to other account.

The only way to get back and use this old account is to log in it:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=8226890

The last post from it is soon enough (29 Nov 2010)
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_user_posts.php?userid=8226890
... so you should:
- remember the password
- have browser which remember the password
- have BOINC installation on old computer to find <authenticator>
