The Breakthrough Listen team has posted their archival search for emission from HD 164595 and the initial analysis of their recent observations of that target.

OK, now for those of us "mundanes", how about a "dumbed-down" version of it, explaining all of the scientific jargon?

Very "dumbed-down" version:
Conclusions:
"(this Transient Signal from the RATAN-600 Telescope) is likely due to instrumental interference or to some other artifact of human technology."
"our GBT observations did not detect ongoing emission from the direction of HD164595"
"We intend to reobserve HD164595"

"Artifact of Human Technology" is an appropriate term...

yea, I would use this signal as a test of the SETI groupies and the system and its ability of detection or not.

I don't know if the SETI system is used to figure out other signals out there.
