I saw that you can get a Xeon Phi workstation with 72-cores with 4 threads each. It's supposed to run Windows Server and it supports OpenCL so maybe BOINC would just work? |

I think it was Ivan that had one for work, and had a go with LINUX & Seti and it wasn't as straightforward as it first appeared. However under Windows Server & using the OpenCL application, it maybe much more doable? There's only one way to find out. Grant Darwin NT |

A couple here have played with them, but none have reported any success in using them. Cheers. |

With it needing a custom closed-loop liquid cooling setup, I can't imagine it will be inexpensive, but I am certain that it won't even come _close_ to Nvidia's new system the DGX-1. If I remember correctly, wasn't that around $129k? I can't imagine even fully optioned up that it will come to half of that. |

Ivan posted a lot about it in: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=72020#1381374 He's also posted from time to time in other threads. Do an Advanced search in his posts. |
