I have problems with my Radeon HD 5450 on this PC: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=8049006 At the beginning it still worked for some work units. After that, it no longer ran for no apparent reason. The GPU task runs for < 1 min, then it stops and the status becomes "Postponed" and later "Waiting to run". The next GPU task begins to run with the same result and so on until it starts with the first task again. After many attempts the tasks will be reported as an error. See: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=8049006&offset=0&show_names=0&state=6&appid= Meantime I installed lunatics v0.44 optimizations. And I tried several drivers: 1. latest driver vom Windows Update (ver. 15.201.1151.1008) 2. latest driver from AMD (ver. 15.20.1062.1004 3. latest BETA driver from AMD (ver. 15.301.1901-160226a) -> OpenCL didn't work Without success. Any ideas? |

Got here the same issues, but its a 512 MB card, thought the memory is the problem, but now i don´t know it whats the reason for it.. Mine is from XFX. 10.08.2016 15:28:02 | SETI@home | task postponed 30.000000 sec: |

It would be best to try with a more recent app. For example try the Lunatics beta installer. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

My HD 5450 has 1 GB RAM. I watched the RAM usage with GPU-Z. After system restart: 50 MB usage of dedicated RAM After BOINC start: 231-293 MB usage of dedicated RAM RAM should be enough. |

Can´t find the README-file on Lunatics 0.45 beta, any config "flags" given ? Edit: found it Changing the drivers version to 12.4 -> no success Changing the drivers version to 13.4 -> no success Changing the drivers version to 15.7.1 -> no success Trying Crimson -> no success... -,- |

What if u use an app_config.xml file ? <app_config> <app> <name>setiathome_v8</name> <max_concurrent>10</max_concurrent> <gpu_versions> <gpu_usage>0.5</gpu_usage> <cpu_usage>.25</cpu_usage> </gpu_versions> </app> </app_config> to have 2 workunits in use for the card ? I can´t test it, i build out the card, ...noses full.. |

Do you have enough CPU ressources free ? Try in comand line text file -no_defaults_scaling -sbs 192 -period_iterations_num 150 With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

ok, i got so many time here, i will check that... got 100% cpu usage, set to 75%. Taking 15.7.1 drivers... Results: nothing have changed OK, I DID IT ! -spike_fft_thresh 2048 -tune 1 2 1 16 Please enter this to your mb_cmdline_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_ATi_HD5.txt file. ONLY for 512MB Vram cards. XXDDD Running about 3 minutes at 0.5 % , better than nothing. |

38 minutes and 7 % means = 543 minutes to crunch , about ~500 minutes left. Calculated 7.5 €-cent per workunit...on this card...if u only take the wattage amount of this one card. |

One step at a time. First i want to get it running. Then we can make it faster. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Yeah, it works! But why only for 512 MB VRAM? My 1 GB VRAM graphic card is also working with it. Better than nothing. I have no idea about the parameters. If you find a better one, then please let me know. ;) P.S.: GPU-Z shows me approx. 98% GPU utilization and 349 MB VRAM usage. |

Check for a file called ReadMe_MultiBeam_OpenCL.txt. Its included in the package. I included some examples for parameter usage there. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

no idea if its related but on my secondary PC i have a HD 5670 512Mb which wouldn't crunch for some reason... Then i installed a GPU-Z and noticed that there was missing OpenCL Then i installed the latest AMD drivers Crimson 16.2.1 or something... But it didn't work. Then i went to manufacturer site and found my driver there... after installing AMD Omega Catalyst 14.12 and run an Catalyst update, i am able to crunch... it seems that Crimson package doesn't contain OpenCL drivers for older cards |

no idea if its related but on my secondary PC i have a HD 5670 512Mb which wouldn't crunch for some reason... Did you use a tool like DDU to remove the old driver before switching? Otherwise you can have mismatched GPU driver and OpenCL versions. Which can lead to tasks with errors. Also Catalyst 15.7.1 is the last driver release that support HD5000 & HD6000 GPUs. Crimson driver releases really only support GCN based GPUs. You can always see if a release supports your GPU by looking at the Supported Products tab on the driver download page. Th problem of the latest drivers from amd, ie version 16.X and above is that they use opencl version 2 which you need a atleast a 7000 series or higher gpu to run. |
