Today I decided to do the Thames Path walk from London Bridge to Westminster.

I did take about 150 pictures so this is just a couple that I rather liked.

Crossing London Bridge from the station, turning round to look back and the sun was just right;

To make The Shard stand out.

I must admit that not being able to come here for well over a year has made me appreciate it even more.

This is the view from Blackfriars bridge towards Westminster.

I like this time of year when you can get big "windy" looking skies.

I also took a walk up to Trafalgar Square .

I wanted a picture of one of the newer "Routemaster"busses and liked this one.

If I get a chance tomorrow I might post a few more.

Personally I think it should have a permanent statue of either of Elizabeth II side saddle at Trooping the colour, or Field Marshall Montgomery. All much more in keeping with the surroundings than cheap tat like blue chickens, which should be at the Tate Modern. if at all.

Agree.
Totally wrong place to rise contemporary artworks.

Trafalgar Square is a public square in the City of Westminster, Central London, built around the area formerly known as Charing Cross. Its name commemorates the Battle of Trafalgar, a British naval victory in the Napoleonic Wars. The 169-foot (52 m) Nelson's Column at its centre is guarded by four lion statues. Four commemorative plinths are there.

A bronze equestrian statue of George IV
General Sir Charles James Napier
Major-General Sir Henry Havelock

The Fourth plinth was originally intended to hold an equestrian statue of William IV, but remained bare since 1840 due to insufficient funds. It has been host to contemporary art since 1999.

Personally I think it should have a permanent statue of either of Elizabeth II side saddle at Trooping the colour, or Field Marshall Montgomery. All much more in keeping with the surroundings than cheap tat like blue chickens, which should be at the Tate Modern. if at all.

Chris, evenso I may have objected to the blue chicken at the TS, Art is Art.

OK I see we have started a discussion about something that does not even have a picture here.

As this is a picture thread, I would hope to keep any discussion on the actual pictures.

If people wish to carry on discussing art I can start a thread and move all the relevant posts.

Now back to pictures. If you remember I mentioned one thing I miss being back in south London is the horizon.

Well there seemed to be a good sunset last night but all I could see was this:

And that was taken leaning out of my kitchen window.

Still I have got a few other pictures, like the Boston ivy on one wall of the park.

I just love the way the leaves go through the dramatice colour change from green to red.

Of course the park also boasts "The Two Towers"

The old water tower is still there, plus at the other end of the park.

Altitude 25 which I quite like.

As a side note I have found my pictures are helping me adjust back to a "normal" life.

Very beautiful Bernie!
Today, I have one of my own. My new toy arrived yesterday, even though it isn't finished. It will go back to the dealer to be finished in the next few days, but it is here for my sister's visit from Virginia. It is unbelievably capable. We went up and down a heavily rutted steep trail with boulders in the rain with ease. We were spinning donuts in my back yard with no lawn damage. The tires have just 3 psi in them now, and will operate down to 1 psi.

Any of the "big brand" compact camera in that price range will do a good job. Being a DSLR man I'm a bit out of touch with today's models, but I have a couple of old Sony compacts that do a fair job when I don't want to lug £ks worth of camera with me.

iPhone has a adapter that allows SLR lens to be mounted to the phone.
