Jungle:

That jungle scene almost looks like a painting.

Can you raft through that stream?

No, but you can walk it. It is all fresh water from an underground spring. The water is so clean and clear that there is no algae in it. You're not allowed to wear sunscreen or any lotions and stuff when you go in it cause that introduces a lot of biological's that can create an environment for algae to grow.

Great photos. Can I make a suggestion Mitchell.

I have a powerful gpu & a large enough monitor to enjoy those photos but I had to scroll down for all of them. Any chance you could reduce their size for here?

Actually, I was going to ask the same thing. Please try to size your photos so that they will fit in a monitor window.
(I hope that makes sense.) I try to make any pix I post around 8" x 10" (or vice versa) at 72dpi. I think the new
message board format will resize photos to width, but not height (to fit on the screen).

I can sure, though the topic says Originals so I was posting originals :) But I will post smaller resolution ones.

Originals only refers to the fact that you must own the photo. The only exception would
be if a friend or relative takes a photo and gives you permission to post it, but you must
clearly say if that's the case.

I post all mine at 800x600 resolution, that give me max size on a 19" flat screen. But yes they become pixelated if you zoom in too much. What I do is probably very wrong but happy to accept advice

First transfer originals at 55"x41" @ 72dpi to photoshop at 34Mb file size
Next reset to 6"x4" @200dpi
Enhance as needed
Upload to photobucket at 3Mb file size
Resize to 800x600

It's my opinion that there's no reason to post anything over 72dpi, since that is everyone's
screen resolution. Therefore, height and width dimensions would be more important.

If you're worried about destroying your original photo, simply make a copy and edit that.

This sort of photo is a dime a dozen, but I still love our fiery sunsets.

Ok this thread has just gone the way of the Beet's give us a caption thread and it happened as soon as Suzie Q's posted with her Photobucket links.

So it seems that Photobucket is causing my problems with both threads. :-(

Cheers.

Periodically Photobucket alters its security or access settings which stuffs things up for some viewers :-(

Try a different browser. Some insist on https for everything and images frequently are not sent secure.

Now why should I have to change from FF?

The impact of the changes may not be "browser related" - one recent set blocked a number of ISP IP address blocks, others have been to limit the number of "hits" a picture has in a time period.

I use Firefox, and can see all the pics, and the green stripes when logged in. Could the issue be a blocker or other add-on you're running with FF?

Very very interesting!!!!

If I view this site WITHOUT logging in, I see the green stripes on the left. Once I login with Firefox or exploder I don't see them .........

No add-on being used that would block anything, but I think Rob's post is the more likely reason, "one recent set blocked a number of ISP IP address blocks", as it just effects Photobucket pic's, I can see the other pic's just fine.

Cheers.

Wow! I'm impressed, at least one of your cats is wearing a collar, Grace won't wear one, She has pulled them off in the past.

This is Grace on an Igloo 72 Cooler... She has feet 2 fingers wide, and can even at 9yrs old jump 4' straight up...

They both wear them :) Though Annie (the Calico Cat, is no longer with me. I gave her toa friends mother that had a cat that passed away and was looking for a very loving, cuddly cat and that is Annie. She thinks she is a dog. I told her when she got her though that she couldn't just let her eat because she would never stop. And another reason I gave Annie to her was that she would get hungry at 4AM and stomp all over my face until I got up and fed her! Arggg. If purring didn't work then stomping. If stomping didn't work then rubbing up against your face, if that didn't work then nipping your ear; see how it escalated!

Anyway, she's doing great and is well cared for.

Midget (the Black Cat) has Cushings Disease, so he lives in the bathroom. Has a little condo and heater and window to look out. He has to have constant running water to drink so it is the only place I can keep him where he has access to trickling water.

I had a cat that looked identical to Annie.
Her name was Jenny. She passed about 19 years ago.

Our current cat, Mia, wakes us by first scratching on the bed corner. If that doesn't work, she gets up on a table and knocks off an expensive knick-knack. My wife and I fly up, and attend to the cat....
I hate it when she doesn't know the difference between week days, and weekends.
