I look at task running and the first on list was a GPU task, and it show in time remaining "7400d 07:08:16". Is that saying 9400days, and if so why such large files? densvin |

"time remaining" is (initial) estimate which in this case should be Very wrong. Do you see it drop fast? (e.g. a day every second) ? Probably task is marked by "AstroPulse v7 7.10 windows_intelx86 (opencl_nvidia_100)" of which you have: "Number of tasks completed 5" http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/host_app_versions.php?hostid=7757658 (Until you have 11 "tasks completed" (for that app on that device) the estimate may be wrong) There are still no "large files" at SETI@home (but they prepare to make maybe 2x "larger files") This "long" task is no different from the others (because it is not "long" task), it should take about the same time as your other tasks: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7757658&offset=0&show_names=0&state=4&appid= Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Thanks for the reply. Here is what shows after about 24 hours Elapsed is 2:13:23 Remaining 9400d 07::08:18 App Seti V8.12 (open CL_Nvidia_SoG) Name 05my10.ae1779.11523.11.38.202.0 It did change by 2 seconds sense yesterday densvin |

Name 05my10.ae1779.11523.11.38.202.0 It took me 5 minutes to find this task because you TYPED it!? (which is very strange to me to type instead of Copy/Paste) The (real) name is: 05my10ae.17779.11523.11.38.202_0 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?result_name=05my10ae.17779.11523.11.38.202_0 This WU was already computed (finished) by someone else on CPU (Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5700 @ 3.00GHz) for 18,525 seconds (5 h) http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=2217793351 Try to: - Pause the task for 30-40 seconds then resume it - Restart BOINC - Restart Windows Do the other tasks of the same kind "opencl_nvidia_SoG" run OK? (before this task was run; and after you pause it another one should start - is it OK?) Â Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |

Host 775768 shows an unusual large turnaround time (Average turnaround time 6.18 days) for a system with a GPU. That can only be reached when you have large restrictions in network availability, or you only sporadically run BOINC. When you @densvin look at the details of this host, what are the percentages showing for "Percentage of time BOINC is allowed to run", "Percentage of time GPU is allowed to run" etc.? (Wording may be different) If the time BOINC is allowed to run and do work is low, that will translate itself in large estimated run times that you have on tasks. |

thanks for input and suggestion. I have tried cntl C & P on the task row with no luck, the only way I could get info with out just hoping I wrote correctly is to bring up properties and then use MS Snippit tool. That only give a large image file. I did see that that on the GPU tasks those with Seti@home V8.8.00 cuda seem to work fine. Those that are openci_nvidia_SoG are the ones that lock up. Also once it locks up it will not start new task unless I abort it or suspended it. I looked at the event log this morning and saw something I don't understand but it might make sense to you. 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GT 730 (driver version 358.91, CUDA version 7.5, compute capability 2.1, 2048MB, 1683MB available, 269 GFLOPS peak) 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | | OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GT 730 (driver version 358.91, device version OpenCL 1.1 CUDA, 2048MB, 1683MB available, 269 GFLOPS peak) 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | | OpenCL CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz (OpenCL driver vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., driver version 1912.5 (sse2), device version OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1912.5)) 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | | app version refers to missing GPU type ATI 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | SETI@home | Application uses missing ATI GPU 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | | app version refers to missing GPU type ATI 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | SETI@home | Application uses missing ATI GPU 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | | app version refers to missing GPU type ATI 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | SETI@home | Application uses missing ATI GPU 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | | app version refers to missing GPU type ATI 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | SETI@home | Application uses missing ATI GPU 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | | app version refers to missing GPU type ATI 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | SETI@home | Application uses missing ATI GPU 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | | Host name: DENSVIN-PC 8/7/2016 9:45:05 AM | | Processor: 8 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz [Family 6 Model 26 Stepping 5] the missing ATI GPU sounds like it might be the problem. the missing ATI GPU sounds like it might be the problem. Definitely not, because you don't have any work in cache assigned to an ATI GPU. There's only a reference in client_state.xml to an application that is used on an ATI GPU, but according to your task list there's no work assigned to it. Your other host has an ATI GPU. Have you moved this GPU to that machine from the one you have the long turn around problem with? If you did so, and you installed the Nvidia GPU, did you uninstall the ATI drivers, and run a cleaner program to get rid of all remnants of the previous GPU? Or does this host have two GPUs and did you not (re)install ATI drivers for the second GPU? In any case, it's got nothing to do with your present problem of tasks showing a long time to completion. So if you want to solve that problem, I suggest you post a separate thread about it, so not to confuse this thread too much. Can you go to https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=7757658 and scroll to the bottom of that page, then select with the mouse (mouse over the text while holding the left button down) everything with percentages. When everything is selected, press CTRL+C to copy to clipboard. In an answer here, click the window to select it, press CTRL+V to paste it. You may want to check whether there's spaces needed, but else just post it. |

Thanks for the reply. I think I am going to set aside some time and go through the remove GPU software/drivers and try doing a clean install. I had to replace the video card some months back and must of not done a very good job of the switch. I am just going to suspend GPU for the mean time until I get it straighten out. Thanks again for the assist. densvin |
