http://atlasathome.cern.ch/forum_thread.php?id=520 Hello, i saw this on LHC and they are able to multiple cpus on one workunit. As i am always searching for something new i WOULD try this on multibeem setiathome_V8 cpu workunits. But will i fail ? I asking because i want to let crunch ready my cache then i will edit the app_config.xml file to be sure, it´s taking about hours, but if i got lucky there is someone who tried this before and could tell. Greetings |

You would need to re-write the seti@home application (and re-compile it, too) to work in a multi-threaded environment. Once you've done that, it's trivial to run it under BOINC - but I doubt you'd find it any more productive than running multiple copies of the existing single-threaded apps. |

Thanks for the reply ! With current given options it´s not possible, i´ll tried all to me known options to change anything. But there´s no gain. |
