FWIW, I updated the x64 compile, perhaps it will help with false positives. Since I was told the x32 version didn't raise issues, I did not update it. Most changes were cosmetic anyway ... 1.02g/h

AV Scan still looks pretty good @ 10/56 except for Kaspersky.

I sent in the false positive report to Kaspersky since I use it on two machines. Got an acknowledgement back from them but no corrective action so far.

I'm totally sick of dealing with false AV positives for QOPt, and the associated hassles. So, I'm going to try a different approach to distribution. Perhaps it will be easier for all to get the files at:
ftp://jimbocous.servebbs.com/FILE_DISTRO/QOpt/

At least, I'm not depending on anyone but myself this way. And I will have logging of access, for what that's worth.
Please let me how how this works out for you. Interestingly, this BBS software doesn't seem to permit embedding FTP links as it does HTTP links, as it insists on inserting an HTTP:// at the front of a URL if it doesn't find one.
Funny, I though the Universal in URL encompassed more than just HTTP ... More pain.

Should be able to just paste the ftp link into any modern browser and go from there ...
To be more specific, if you then click on a text link, it will be displayed, and using "select all' followed by copy and paste into a text editor like Notepad may be saved.
For executables or zips, clicking will invoke a download request.
Having said that, if you're using Firefox and want a more traditional interface, download the FireFTP extension from the Firefox web site and you'll have conventional drag and drop functionality as well.

I think even 15 years old browser will do
(IIRC I used Opera 3.x in Windows 3.1 for ftp links in ~1999 and Internet by modem)

Perhaps the " 2>NUL" solves that

2>NUL redirects STDERR to NUL so the "Could Not Find ...\slots\boinc_finish_called" error from Del will go to "nowhere"
>NUL is the same as 1>NUL
You can see use of 2>NUL in MBbench210.cmd

From Windows help (F1 on Desktop):
Handle Numeric equivalent of handle Description
STDIN 	0 				Keyboard input
STDOUT 1 Output to the Command Prompt window
STDERR 2 Error output to the Command Prompt window

Just updated to 1.02j for both 32- and 64-bit compiles. As always, AV sensing is intermittent. Your mileage may vary. Update is to get rid of an error message that should not display, as per BilBg's earlier instruction:)

Not essential (only help text)
Check these lines:

ECHO -y Shutdown then restart Boinc Tray if it is running
ECHO If running, Boinc Manager is shut down and later restarted.

ECHO -b Backup SETI@home Client file %QO_Src_File% to %QO_Bkp_File%
ECHO Invokes only the SETI@home Client file backup, then program exits.

(Should be BOINC Client as client_state.xml is BOINC file)

Other than my AV program nukes the download still. Still have to jump through hoops to get the program. I must have spent a couple of hours this morning trying to get the program bundled into a encrypted file to Kaspersky support to meet their requirements for examination of the false positive. I would appreciate it if you just dropped the 64 bit directory from the zip file entirely. That is the part that gets flagged always.

I would appreciate it if you just dropped the 64 bit directory from the zip file entirely. That is the part that gets flagged always.

ftp://jimbocous.servebbs.com/FILE_DISTRO/QOpt/

- have 2 sub-directories to get the 32 or 64 bit files separately

Kaspersky (+ Avira, McAfee, ...) may 'flag' the 64 bit:
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/e2d06223f5e86a56f316168b41796f06a24451a2034edc01dad251cd6089cf15/analysis/1476412598/

... but who uses other Antiviruses (Symantec) may complain about 32 bit:
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/cf58e901bb8723e23bbf1a3f8046f49cc6a7f33c1d2d770d11c0c5af82221bbd/analysis/1476412572/

And the above is only the first scan, it will change in next days.

Change for QOpt 1.02h in 5 days:
32 bit (7 -> 10):

64 bit (10 -> 32):

For the full QOpt 1.02h.zip (8 / 56 -> 31 / 57):
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/baa0ea7ad7f20328b91545a7635c9cae60c1aefac4a1f0411c543d7f061f99b2/analysis/1475909555/

(I use ESET-NOD32 which don't flag any of these files)

Seems like McAfee has been tamed, at least for the time being. I just cleanly downloaded the .zip file, then first used 7-Zip for the extraction and scanned both executables without any objection. I extracted again using Windows Explorer and, again, no problems. Finally, I downloaded each of the two individual .exe files and they both came up clean. I think that's a first for McAfee!

EDIT: BTW, my McAfee virus definition files were updated about 8 hours ago.

Enjoy it while it lasts, I'd say. Next compile will probably cause it all to choke again. :)

And a test with archive with password=pass

QOpt 1.02j pass.7z - 0 / 54 - I wonder if it will ever be 'flagged'
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/161f5fd77932c741d74ca2bae73d2047fee16e32329a542b152e6d3c9e1586c8/analysis/1476424125/

This allows for no problem Download but of course may give problem on extract.
Such file may be put as alternative Download - e.g. by name QOpt_1.02j_password=pass.7z

I thought of using this method too when I was messing around with 7zip trying to bundle the QOpt.zip file and detection report for Kaspersky. It seems that if a file is passworded, then my Kapsersky AV program has no issues with it. I wondered if the browsers would also not have an issue.

I got an acknowledgment back from Kaspersky Support that they were escalating my ticket up to Tier 2 response. We shall see I guess if anything constructive ever arises.
