I got inspired by this project, so i made a nerdy song called "SETI", maybe you'll like it. It is found there: http://www.mp3.de/musik/genre/band/030304/254373/3
Keep on searching for "Them"!

I love it. Kind of Mod Tracker stuff.

Do they ever get to find intelligent life on earth or is that the next song?

Would be kind of groovey if SETI@Home people could listen to this as its a great compliment to inspire people to be creative...

Although it's not really "my kind of music" i liked it.
Kinda filled up with "Techno", i'm 41!, you know, what i mean! It's a bit distracting...

[edit]
Is the refrain like:
"We are searching for intelligent life on earth..."?
If this is really the case? Then i think you'll never succeed ;)
[/edit]

What is a "SETI dance"? Hold your ears out with your hands and bop around looking upward? :)

The music is kinda neat. I could definitely throw these songs into my mix of music.

However, I am jealous! I would LOVE to be able to compose music. I would love to be able to express my thoughts and emotions through music. People such as yourself, Danny Elfman, and John Williams all just leave me in awe. The fact taht a person can hear so many different instruments, melodies and counter-melodies and put them down into music just astounds me.

So, if you don't mind, would you please tell me how you got your start? What kind of equipment / software do you use? Anything to help me get my start into this realm of life would be greatly appreciated.

Guido this picture from Dr Strangelove would need music more akin
to the Republican National Committee. I think Tom Lehrer once wrote
a song call "We'll all go together when we go."

hi jim,
if you want to make music with your pc, maybe you'll try the software "reason" (www.propellerheads.se). it is professional and also quite easy to learn. i'm using different kinds of software. the seti-song sounds very "vintage" or "nerdy" (right word?), with 8-bit-style-samples. my other songs are different.

Thank you for the link. I finally took a look at the website. I am going to look into this further. But first, I am going to go outside and enjoy this almost 60 deg F weather in the first part of Feb. Gotta love it.

Tom Lehrer

We Will All Go Together When We Go

Lyrics and Chords

When you attend a funeral
It is sad to think that sooner or later
Those you love will do the same for you
And you may have thought it tragic
Not to mention other adjec-
Tives, to think of all the weeping they will do
But don't you worry

No more ashes, no more sackcloth
And an armband made of black cloth
Will someday never more adorn a sleeve
For if the bomb that drops on you
Gets your friends and neighbors too
There'll be nobody left behind to grieve

/ Em - / F - / B7 - E - / E E7 A F#7 / B7 - E B7 /

And we will all go together when we go
What a comforting thought that is to know.
Universal bereavement, an inspiring achievement
Yes, we will all go together when we go

We will all go together when we go
All suffused with an incandescent glow
No one will have the endurance to collect on his insurance
Lloyd's of London will be loaded when they go

/ F - Bb - / - Gm C7 - / F F7 Bb Gm / C7 - F C#7 /

Oh we will all fry together when we fry
We'll be french fried potatoes by and by
There will be no more misery when the world is our rotisserie
Yes, we will all fry together when we fry

Down by the old maelstrom
There'll be a storm before the calm

/ Eb F7 Bb7 - / Bb7 G7 Cm B7 /

And we will all bake together when we bake
There'll be nobody present at the wake
With complete participation in that grand incineration
Nearly three billion hunks of well-done steak

Oh we will all char together when we char
And let there be no moaning of the bar
Just sing out a Te Deum when you see that ICBM
And the party will be "come as you are"

Oh we will all burn together when we burn
There'll be no need to stand and wait your turn
When it's time for the fallout
And Saint Peter calls us all out
We'll just drop our agendas and adjourn

You will all go directly to your respective Valhallas
Go directly, do not pass Go, do not collect two hundred dollahs

And we will all go together when we go
Ev'ry Hottentot and ev'ry Eskimo
When the air becomes uranious, we will all go simultaneous

Stomp like that - new song online

It was hard work in the end but now it's done. Stomp like that's main theme is an aggressive saw-hookline treated with cuts. I tried to mix it with an offbeat-rhythm. Together with afro-cuban congas, other perc-stuff it is hopefully not too complex
