That is my plan, I plan on using 1 single computer with a i7 2600 cpu, should work well.

also using the rx480 this month and not the r9 280x. so power is way down.

from using 200+ watts to 61w during seti.

but I think the rx480 needs a lot more tweaking. but cant complain for 1000 seconds for a gpu task seems ok.

New setup single PC,

Core i7 3770, 62w around 20/year estimate
16gb DDR3 1600 9-9-9-24 1.5v
western dg green edition hd

GTX 750ti, 60w
get riser for pci slot or use another mobo i think i have that has dual pci express slots for video cards, I dont need anything fancy just so I can get 16x transfer from each port, since I wont be doing sli is it possible to get full 16x/16x on each slot? and not 8x/8x like sli mode does? only mobo i have now is 16x/4x since im only running 1 task on the gtx750 will 4x hurt? if i buy the asrock extreme mobo i would wrather use that for me to be honest so I can run dual rx490 or the new dual vega amd chips coming out which will be over 4000 bit bus! running dual 4000 bit bus cards and compute units im sure will be through the roof
GTX 750 55w

300w power supply

I just need to know how to setup to tell the 750ti to do 2 tasks and the 750 to do only 1 task

is it possible to get full 16x/16x on each slot? and not 8x/8x like sli mode does?

SLI mode doesn't have anything to do with the PCIe mode. That depends on the motherboard & CPU.
If it supports x16/x16, it will, if it's x8/x8 then that's what will happen.

only mobo i have now is 16x/4x since im only running 1 task on the gtx750 will 4x hurt?

Depending on the application you use, and the card involved- maybe, maybe not.
With CUDA50 the PCIe bus load is only a couple of percent at most. With SoG and optimised settings it's 20% at maximum (PCIe*8 connection). That's more than PCIe*1, but much less than PCIe*4.

300w power supply

I'd suggest 400W as a minimum.
You'd be looking at around 225-250W absolute maximum power for your suggested system (don't forget fans, HDDs & motherboard power requirements), so personally i'd want a good quality 400W PSU, just to give a bit of extra head room.
A PSU running at 95% load is much less likely to last as long as one running at 65%.

400-450W PSU would be better than a 300W job and make sure that it has a single 12v rail and not a duel rail job (duel 12v rails can be a big problem when using GPU's powered by just the motherboard).

Cheers.

I usually go with PC power and cooling as a power supply or the new corsair brand which use good single 12v rails DO NOT EVER USE THE CORSAIR AX850 BRAND mine died after 35 days would not cover it cause I could not find my receipt -.- but honestly every single other corsair part I have bought from hard drives, psu, aio coolers, ram all great no issues.!

might even use my current CX750 corsair psu and get a new one when I upgrade my gpus again in a few months plus 750 graphics cards sounds nice with a 750 psu haha ;)

also the 300 watt psu, i have 4 of them just sitting around from dell computers, i dont care if they die, I have my own IT company so I get used parts every week I can swap out like that. hard drives, ram, cases, motherboards are easy to come by for single gpu setups. i actually have 8 machines I could run it on at moment. but think I will stick to a single system. for now.

I would suggest a Corsair HX1200i, to have some reserve (for additional Graphiccards) and more stability.
With 3 NVIDIA GTX570 I shreddered three SuperFlower 1000 Watt PSU's.
Now I have a LEPA 1600 Watt PSU running 3 Titans.

Better take some more bucks into your hands and get the best quality on the market you can find.
That's my expirience.

I did a complete rebuild of main pc going to test seti with.

i7 3770 @ 4.1GHZ 1.25v
Corsair DDR3 2400 11-13-13-31 1T 1.65v
Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD
Corsair AX860 Platinum PSU
Asrock Z77 Extreme4
XFX RX480 XXX 8GB
ASUS RX480 REF 8GB
85% cpu

Windows 7x64 Ultimate
disabled ULPS for both cards in registry.
amd 16.9.2 driver

both cards using 80w max during seti

Just started running with default boinc settings no modifications see what happens. then I will switch to a 1-1 ratio.

Had issues the ASRock mobo I had was bad kept switching the second PCIe port to PCIe 2.0

seems to be an issue with the asrock boards when running crossfire. I will test again. trying to get another gtx750ti so I can run two in a system and do 4 gpu tasks that gpu seems really good for two wu's.

I also had a bad IMC on my i7 3770 it would not run my memory at ddr3 2400 I thought it was a fluke, but bad IMC on cpu, I put same CPU in from another system I had laying around and it worked...

You may get better results pending on quality of your IMC in your CPU.

Crossfire is only for games, so unless you play games on the system it's not necessary.
