This story has been on the main news channels over here in Gt Britain all day here's a link to the BBC website .

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36458472

I'm no bleeding heart liberal lefty but scum like this should be put down , even if he's got 22 life sentences . Only good thing is he'll be on the "45's" and every inmate will be after him , at the very least he will get "jugged" boiling water and sugar in his face . Sub human pieces of shi#e don't diserve any sympathy and hope he suffers .
Life is what you make of it :-)

When i'm good i'm very good , but when i'm bad i'm shi#eloads better ;-) In't I " buttercups " p.m.s.l at authoritie !!;-)

Oh Mark, there is a special place in hell for such creatures.
I get just as vexed as any other person, but in the end I
think only God can heal these corrupted souls....
I guess he is past our ability to help him, certainly the
children may be healed I pray.

This goes on a lot in places like Malaysia , Indonesia , Thailand we've had a few Australians arrested for simular things . You get shot for drugs but not for Child abuse .......what's the point of giving someone 22 life sentences .

A bullet in the head would be better ....

Never can understand why they just don't say Term of your Natural life rather than 22 life sentences

The Old Bailey judge described a 60-page paedophile manual Huckle wrote as a "truly evil document" and said he must serve at least 23 years in jail.

So much for a life sentence, or even 22 of them!

Welcome to the "civilised" world.

Welcome to the weird world.
Probably you have read about Anders Breivik, the Norwegian mass murderer, who sued the Norwegian State for not accepting Anders's human rights.
He won the case!
The court upheld his claim that some of his treatment amounted to "inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment".

I read the BBC article. Life in prison is too good for this fellow but so is execution. Hopefully his fellow inmates will make the remainder of his life a living hell.

But probably in a few years we will be reading how he has miraculously found God and is now totally repentant.

For those professing a penchant to torture these kinds of people, what does that say about what is inside you that you're willing to commit acts of great evil to combat evil? Certainly you're no better than the person you're torturing and your morality is screwed up if you think it is OK to treat any person as less than human for the disgusting acts they commit.

In my view some individuals drop below classification as human beings when they commit atrocities over and over without any sign of regret and even show signs of great pride in their actions. If you believe in God then I guess you can take consolation in the assurance that such people will be punished in the afterlife. But if you have doubts about the existence of God or any afterlife then the only punishment that they will get is in the here and now.

People are classified as human so long as their genetics allow the classification. Actions do not change this fact.

No doubt these individuals need to pay for their crimes, and recidivous offenders are particularly dangerous. I still see no reason to reduce ourselves to their level by invoking an 'emotional' justice upon them. It is perfectly acceptable to despise their actions, but I do not think it is OK to revel in their pain.

Your opinion is very PC.
But there are some people that do crimes that no one accept.
What's the problem by invoking an 'emotional' justice to those by for instance seperate them from human sociaty leaving them to live in some desolated island or something?

And rightly so, no one should accept the crimes. I certainly don't.

Pretty sure I haven't argued against isolation, though that doesn't sound much different than prison. Personally I would prefer rehabilitation if possible.

He raped over 200 children. One alleged 6 months old. His victims are from poor families. These babies with no therapy will end up as prostitutes, druggies,
or worse. Who will pay for their therapy? Rehabilitation never ever helps sex offenders.

Sounds like those victims need society's help in recovering, and I surely hope they get all they need and more. Torturing or killing sex offenders never helps either.

True. He will get what is due him in prison. I'm just for those babies, who can't help themselves.

Isolation in a prison is very different then to send criminals to some desolated island.
Maybe the best rehabilitation is to let them work in some forest chopping wood.
I know some people that do that just to sort out their mind.

I wouldn't have asked if it were obvious. As it stands I don't see the difference. Isolation is isolation, unless you're talking about solitary confinement versus incarceration. Even then, the end result for the rest of society is the same; criminals are kept away from the general population.
