Finally, after 36 hours of jack.

I like to think of Seti@home as similar to NASA, except nobody gets killed if things go wrong.

I just pulled down 20 WU on the WINBLOZE box.. I looked at the Nix box and Im getting this message..

2004-07-03 03:48:59 [---] Fewer active results than CPUs; requesting more work
2004-07-03 03:48:59 [SETI@home] Requesting 34560 seconds of work
2004-07-03 03:48:59 [SETI@home] Sending request to scheduler: http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi
2004-07-03 03:49:02 [SETI@home] Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded
2004-07-03 03:49:02 [SETI@home] Message from server: platform 'i386-unknown-freebsd4.5' not found
2004-07-03 03:49:02 [SETI@home] No work from project

What does " 'i386-unknown-freebsd4.5' not found " detail ??????
Does this mean I'm not getting WU because it doen't know the FreeBSD I compiled for ???

Yeah, it seems like it doesn't recognise FreeBSD.

I still have 5 WU's left in my cache :D

I have three machines, all connected to SETI and one also connected to predictor. The one with predictor isnt' getting any SETI WU's whereas the other two are. I've set SETI at 66%, being my preferred project, but it currently has 0 work units, and when I click to Update the project it doesnt seem to request any WU's from the scheduler... obviously because Predictor downloaded enough WU's to last a week (for some unknown reason).

Is this what BOINC is supposed to be doing... is it supposed to download more WU's only when the total amount of available work across all projects is insufficient, or should it be working on a project-by-project basis??

==========

From what I have read if you have run Seti for awhile when you attach to another Project like Pedictor it will only give you WU from the new Project until it catches up to the other Project no matter what you set your preferences to.

I have mine set to 1000 Seti & 1 Predictor but all I get is more WU's from Predictor ... I've only managed to get 3 WU's from Seti in the last 8 day's but have got a ton from Predictor ...

PS: Drinking12, nobody's really getting any WU's from Seti Live any more than you, a lucky few manage to get some every now & then, don't feel like the Lone Ranger out there...

Looks like i got 25 units? I wish they would restore some of the funtions back to the web site. This whole thing reminds me of when the brought out 3.0 in classic.

China, eh? Dying to know what you do. I changed my prefs so I'll have enough WUs if we go down again, too.

FWIW

Around 16:00 - 17:00 UTC I got my full cache of WU's on all 3 machines.

I opened up my cache a bit more, and it got filled w/i the next several hours.

No, you aren't doing anything wrong.

Perhaps this message from the front page will be of some assistance?

We made some progress and are turning the project on. You may still have problems getting work. If that is the case, you might consider switching back to SETI@home Classic for the next few days.
