Hi Everyone,

I'm getting the message below, but my driver is up to date.

Message from server: NVIDIA GPU: Upgrade to the latest driver to process tasks using your computer's GPU

I'm not sure what to make of this message.
Will the tasks be thrown away because the GPU can't be vetted or should I just ignore the message?

from the log:

CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTS 250M (driver version 341.95, CUDA version 6.5, compute capability 1.2, 1024MB, 909MB available, 311 GFLOPS peak)
OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTS 250M (driver version 341.95, device version OpenCL 1.0 CUDA, 1024MB, 909MB available, 311 GFLOPS peak)

Running Seti v8 8.0 (cuda32) tasks.

Even the oldest Nvidia GPUs should still be able to get work, and do it albeit slowly. But since you have your computer hidden, you'll have to give the rest of the details on it:
- Operating system
- since you seem to have a laptop or notebook, what specific brand is it?
- where did you get the videocard driver from?
- Have you tried updating it from the Nvidia site? Or do you get an error then because of the proprietary brand laptop/notebook?

Sure, here are the details:

Windows 10 32bit

msi gt740

I downloaded the driver with the Geforce experience tool.

I did look on the nvidia site. The site states that the driver with the version number 341.95 was released on march 16 2016 for windows 10 32bit

The driver installed normally and there are no errors in the event log.

I can only think that the drivers are bad again.
The pre-Fermi version of the Nvidia GPU has had its rough patch in the driver department for the past year or so. First they were not getting updates, then they would get updates, but even then it's still hit and miss because of broken drivers.

It's possible that the present 341.95 are broken again for the pre-Fermi and that the server knows this and doesn't give work to GPUs running this driver, because it causes all the work to be returned with errors. Not much use in that, of course.

But you best ask about that in Number Crunching: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_forum.php?id=10 as that's where the developers of the applications post.
