I do hope that the recorders are intact enough to shed evidence on the tragedy. If not, they need to look at beefing up the data recorders to survive the events in which they are looked to for evidence. Just saying....... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Recorders not tested yet. EgyptAir crash: Paris prosecutor opens manslaughter inquiry The Paris prosecutor has opened a manslaughter investigation into last month's EgyptAir plane crash. A spokeswoman told the Associated Press that it would begin as an accident inquiry because there was no evidence so far to link it to terrorism. The authorities, she said, were "not at all" favouring the theory the Airbus A320 was brought down deliberately. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-36644422 |

The Egyptian investigation committee also said that part of the front section of the aircraft's wreckage "showed sign of high temperature damage" and soot. That is confirmation of the sensor reading. |

The plane was flying from France to Egypt? The French 'repaired' the 'black box' (even though it's bright orange) Hmmm, I would think they will blame the plane rather than poor security, grounding a bunch of planes during investigation of a fault won't hurt travel and tourism as much as admitting 'we can't keep you safe if you fly from France' Now, anyone got any other good conspiracy theories? I'm not a complete idiot, but, I'm working on it. I have an opinion and I'm not afraid to use it |

this an update. EgyptAir crash: Recorder shows pilots 'battled fire' Pilots of the EgyptAir jet that crashed in the Mediterranean Sea in May battled to extinguish a fire, the cockpit voice recorder reportedly shows. The data, revealed by sources close to the investigation but not yet made public, backs up evidence from the flight recorder of smoke in the cabin. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-36719358 |

Another update on the crash. TNT traces on EgyptAir plane debris split investigators: Le Figaro Investigators from France's institute for criminal research found traces of the explosive material TNT last week in Cairo on debris from an EgyptAir plane that crashed in May, triggering a dispute between French and Egyptian authorities, French newspaper Le Figaro reported on Friday. The origin of these traces remains unclear and Egyptian judicial authorities did not allow French investigators to examine the debris in detail, Le Figaro said, citing a source close to the investigation. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-egyptair-airplane-idUSKCN11M2B8 |
