Gives new meaning to the phrase "Black Friday". Methinks somebody has too much time on their hands, in which case I can think of several other things that it could have been spent on.

Speaking of "Black Friday", I ordered my Xmas presents, 2x GTX 1060's, and hopefully they'll be here by next weekend depending on the Xmas transport load (maybe just after if very busy).

Cheers..

A "Classic Theme" option would be really appreciated; some of the CSS choices in this new theme aren't so great: the super-bold white thread titles are hard on my eyes and the increasing font size by quotation nesting just seems like unnecessary shouting.

The Server Status page works here, but trying to read it is another story.
Cheers.

Not working here.
I get "HTTP ERROR 500".

What a train wreck. Absolutely horrid.
Will anyone ever get the fact that white text on dark background is at least twice as hard on the eyes as the reverse?
And SSP is unreadable.

Server status page works here, but reading it, is a totally different story.
This is amongst the worst webpage settings, I've ever seen.
Grey and black background, and white/light grey text on the grey background for messages.
Someone needs to check the meaning of the word "readability".
That, and understanding that there are older people here than people between 20 and 30.

Spend time communicating about the project, instead of spending hours and hours to screw up a perfectly working webpage.
From this point on, there's no idea to say "we don't have time", when someone wonders why the staff can't post a short message when something goes wrong.

I agree - this sucks, just like almost all websites built with IOS/Android in mind - large print, less content per page, awful color schemes. I call b*llsh*t on this.

Go back to a readable version.

PLEASE!!!!!

EDIT: I was going to donate this month. But if the staff has time to do this, surely they must be rolling in dough. Certainly don't seem to have the needs of SETI as a priority. So now I will wait, and see if they care what the users think.

Now just remember that this change has been brought to you by the same person that gave us Credit New and it's very likely that just as much thought went into both. ;-)

Cheers.

There's no reason to be hostile about it -- the person doing web stuff is probably a volunteer just like the rest of us.

As in a lot of organisations, the person who makes changes to the website does not necessarily know what is happening on a daily basis

Strangely for me the darker background makes it easier to read and I am 65.

I revised the BOINC web code (PHP) to use Bootstrap CSS

This is on Github in a branch named "bootstrap".
You can try it out on your project,
and see it in action on the BOINC message boards.

* The revised code uses exclusively Bootstrap classes.
* Pages with multiple columns (such as the sample home page) use Bootstrap grids
to be "responsive" (i.e. to show a single column on small displays).
* I added support for a navbar with drop-down menus. This can be fixed or not.
* You can use the standard Bootstrap CSS (black on white) or one of the many
"themes" (google "bootstrap free theme"; there are many sources). If you have
your own custom CSS (based on white.css) you can still use it, though it may
need tweaking.

Could I suggest that perhaps the old adage that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" applies here?

Server Status Page from the Computing pulldown menu give you the 500 Error code. Server Status Page from the Science pulldown under the "About Seti@Home menu selection sends you to the real SSP location. Obviously, they've coded the page links wrong under the Computing pulldown.

I'd guess that the Status page not showing is a caching issue for some users. That kind of thing does tend to happen with the internet. Sometimes you can get around that my adding a ? to the end of an address. So that any cache servers between you and a site get the hint to poll for an update.

The Server Status does need some does need some color adjustment to be human readable once again. It looks like the .xml output is still working correctly at the moment..

Something that may be of help, at least for Firefox users, is an add-on color-that-site. Which can let you full recolor a page or whole domain. Although a css replacement add-on might be less work.

Well somethings changed between now and my last post. Now both locations point to https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html. Before, the Server Status under Computing pointed to https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/server_status.html. NOT the same URL at all.

It looks like some reconstruction is now taking place on the Server Status page.

Cheers.

Yeah, looks like someone is taking care of the main functional issues.

This color scheme is not very compatible with the stat page icons for BoincStats & Free-DC in the Your computers & in host details. It looked like the Free-DC one was missing for a moment. Maybe they can put a white field or something behind the images So that they appear correctly with any color scheme.

Now if D.A. can change the type to black on the servers status bars it'd be fixed enough for most to see properly.

Cheers.
