I still have no activity on my running tasks and have no idea why, even though I have left my computer idle for many hours over several days. can someone please help?

Your machine hasn't contacted the servers for 7 days, so something is wrong.

Can you restart Boinc, when it is running press CTRL+SHIFT+E to get the log page, highlight the fist 20-30 lines and copy and past them here.

Hopefully something will show there.

Search for a file called *_cmdline*.txt and add the following.
Its located in your projects folder.

-sbs 64 -period_iterations_num 500

Restart boinc.
