Requesting tasks for NVIDIA GTX 750 GPU (running Lunitics apps) -- I have my task preferences set as follows: SETI@home v7: no AstroPulse v7: yes SETI@home v8: no and "Use others if not available..." set to "yes". I get NO SETI@home V8 tasks -- just messages that no AstroPulse V7 GPU tasks are available, even though thousands of V8 tasks are shown as available on the Server page. If I change "AstroPulse v7:" to "no" and "SETI@home V8" to "yes" then I get V8 tasks -- regardless how I have "Use if not available..." set. So... What's going on here?? |

You will only ever get AP tasks if they are available, and they are a very rare beast to catch. With your options your cache will be filled with whatever tasks are available, and because there are so many MB tasks around you will get considerably more of them than APs. I use the same settings as you and I think I pick up a few APs about every third time they are available. Nonetheless he should be getting v8 if no AP are available with the first setting. A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. (Mark Twain) |

I have the exact same preferences and aside from some messages about no work when there are only vlar, no problems really to fill my cache. So it does work. |

Perhaps the feeder was just empty or filled with VLARs for all of their previous requests. I use the same settings as you and I think I pick up a few APs about every third time they are available. My point was that I WAS NOT GETTING ANY AP TASKS. However, it appears to be working now. . . And I have never received any messages about only VLAR tasks being available. |

And I have never received any messages about only VLAR tasks being available. Unless there is a change in the Scheduler, you won't. If you request GPU work, and only VLARs are available the message you get is 30/04/2016 8:25:48 | SETI@home | Tasks for AMD/ATI GPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them 30/04/2016 8:25:48 | SETI@home | Tasks for Intel GPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them 30/04/2016 8:25:48 | SETI@home | This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress Grant Darwin NT |
