On 12/31/2016 this area got 1.4" of rain, for December 2016 2.5". There will be puddles for a couple days, and the soil will be very moist for a bit, caliche is what passes for soil here, it does not drain very well or fast. More rain is predicted for Jan 8th, about 0.29", about 10 times what this area got today, so far, which is 0.03". The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

We have snow, in the local mountains, and in the Ord mountains especially, which is helping to cool this area down. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Here in the high section of Natures Refrigerator, snow capped mountains tend to keep the air a bit chilly, here night temps are in the 40F's, where My sister in law lives in Victorville CA, it's more like the 30F's at night, or lower, but then they have taller mountains with lots of snow nearby. 48ºF right now and this round of rain is about over, we got 2.28 inches out the last one, another big one coming on Sat through Monday. It was a good rain slow and steady. Gordon how is it out in your neck of the woods? |

Not looking too cozy in kittyland........... Leaving an extra heater running and the waterbed kitty heater on all day whilst I am at work. Gotta keep the kitties comfy. They spend all day snoozing on the waterbed, so they shall be warm. Me, I gotta worry that poor ol' Toothless can continue to start every day to get me to work.... Meowfrigid. Well, it's not crazy cold like Mark's neck of the woods, but they are predicting a little snow for Thursday. This would be our first snow of the winter, and the city has rolled out a new online map to track snow clearing trucks: http://apps.lojic.org/metrosnowroutes The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Sometimes I wish I had a care giver, but I'd have to hire somebody, IHSS would pay them the state minimum wage of $10.50 an hour. @ Grant Nelson: Happy Birthday, Grant! Mine gets $12 an hour and the state picks up the tab. Well the state of California here also picks up the tab, this year(2017) it's $10.50 a hour, 2018 = $11.00, 2019 = $12.00, 2020 = $13.00, 2021 = $14.00, 2022 = $15.00, after that the wage I think is indexed to inflation. And you're welcome. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |
