Doctors are urging runners participating in Thursday's Cigna 5K to prepare for intense heat. It will be an uncomfortable night for sleeping.

Several people from my company are running in this race today.
Fortunately, I am not one of them!

Intense heat, hmm, that seems like normal here in the summer.

Uncomfortable temps to sleep in, I'm not sure what that is, in the summer temps
in My bedroom are as warm as 86F, but then I have I have a thermometer in the
room, and a 20" floor fan on high, otherwise to Me that would be unsleepable.

Running, that's not something I've done in about 37 years, plus I couldn't run
now if My life depended on it.

Yeah, Me too.

Temps in the area are 75-80 before sunrise, with dew points around 70.

Line of thunderstorms approaching, will get here about the time I go to work. Then another line will come through between when I come home and when I go out this evening. Flash flood watch starts at 10 AM, goes to midnight.

Heading into what passes for a heatwave in the UK, some of you would call it a cool summer's day.

Looks like we are going to be in the Mid 80ºF's here for the next 10 days or so they say. Zero chance of rain also which isn't surprising.

In the land where the rain use to land. :(

Here's a pic of some smoke and yes ashes, possibly from the Cajon Pass Fire or one in Phelan. There is Fire on either side of the i15 fwy, just north of the i15/i215 interchange,
which is closed in the Cajon Pass until further notice, there are some DC-10 Tankers there dumping DHMO, they can carry 12,000 gallons of DHMO, very dangerous to a fire.
Even the UP/BNSF tracks are closed in the Cajon Pass, according to NBC 4 out of Los Angeles CA. Hwy 138 has fires there too, this in Phelan. I'm a long ways away, so no worries. The fwy below is the i15 in Yermo CA.

Here's 3 pics of the Blue Cut or Cajon Pass fire, near Lytle Creek Rd.
Mandatory Evacuations are still in effect.
There is also a large brush fire in the Santa Barbara area, even farther from Me, and to roughly the West North West of Me.

A soggy Friday, leading to a soggy weekend.

Just right for the V-Fest festival goers

(Hopefully this will get the bad weather out of the way ready for a glorious Bank Holiday(*) weekend next weekend.

Tomorrow doesn't seem like the total washout I was expecting earlier, but it could still make Thomas and Percy operations interesting.

That looks a little dangerous.

It's been a steamy tropical summer here. Most humid one I can remember. Sky is dark right now, as rain is moving in...

1.27 inches of rain recorded in our backyard today, and 5.23 for the month.

With the constant humidity and ample rainfall, the grass has been greener all summer than I've ever seen it.
