Was at work today, so I don't know what it topped out at home but it was supposed to be hotter!
Tomorrow it is supposed to go down a couple. And you can see our bush fires on the news. http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-reservoir-fire-angeles-20160620-snap-story.html

It's a little cloudy here, but my main thing is I'm glad the days are getting shorter again. Too much sunlight wears me out.

8C (feels like 3C), wet and windy again here in the highlands down under and I very much doubt that we'll get to our expected max of 10C again this week (today being Hump Day and 10C has been the expected max since last weekend).

Well for being in the middle of our dry season here it has been awfully wet with over 90mm of the wet stuff landing so far this month. :-O

Though that could change over the next few days as snow is expected in this region down to 700 metres.

Cheers.

Rain with moderate risk of severe storms and tornadoes later. Much cooler, though, currently 67F.

Lots of severe weather in northern Illinois this evening. Most of it is passing south of me, with tornadoes to the southwest, but a good cell also went by to my north and through downtown Chicago, causing officials to suspend the Copa America soccer game (Chile vs. Colombia) and send the 55,000 fans into shelter in the concourse of Soldier Field.

The entire town of Pontiac, Ill., is said to be dark right now (including the state prison), and a light pole knocked down on I-55 nearby. Also 2.1 inches of rain.

Looks like a tornado went through Seneca, but not a huge amount of damage.

Soccer match resumed at 10:25 pm.

There was a report of an elephant-trunk-like tornado near Chatsworth, but it retreated into the clouds.

WGN-TV (not WGN America) was covering it continuously from, I don't know, 7ish maybe, until they finally did some commercials at 10:45 and then the sports. The News at Nine and Ten had no other news (on the day a major area resident, once second in line to the President, wheeled himself into a federal prison). One of their weathermen was out driving around with a mobile crew and encountered a fallen transformer.

The silver lining, if there is one, is that the area that got the majority of the storms has been starving for rain this month.

I got 2.36 inches of rain in my rain gauge yesterday. Nice. I won't have to water for a few days.

Oh, I don't water the grass. I just do a couple new bushes and trees.

And I keep postponing cutting the grass because of that heat.
